I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. The news came calling and too many issues that I won’t outline in this paragraph tugged at me. I am after all human and drawn to negativity far more than I would like to admit. Need to drag myself from all the mechanisms designed to sap our strength and leave us
I took longer than I meant to, but at long last, I returned to Old School Forest Preserve to check out a park I passed while hiking on the Des Plaines River Trail. There are many different paths that make their way through these trees. The park has lots of winding paths and hidden green spaces too. This is a
I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. And I will continue avoiding the news to the best of my ability. Simply watching that stuff takes energy and happiness away. Humans are attracted to negativity. We don’t share our opinions when happy, but when we get mad, the entire world gets to know. Instead focus on what makes you
I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. And instead of being focused on him, I’m constantly dodging a whole lot of antisemitism on social media. Its a reminder that I need to disconnect from that stuff as much as I can. All of us have algorithms that are designed to make us angry and exhausted. I keep seeing
I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. And after last week where I ignored him, I found it best to do so again. After all, The Felon is a waste of space with no value to speak of. He steals my air as well as yours. And as a narcissist, he craves attention. He deserves none of mine.
Back on the trail and eager for another hike, I returned to continue hiking the Des Plaines River Trail. Des Plaines River Trail 7 was not part of any forest preserve, and only passed alongside another state park. This section also had a lot less mosquitoes as it moved away from the Des Plaines River. There was a lot to
I mentioned in my last post that I had passed by a park on that hike. And so for this adventure, I went and explored Adler Park. Part of this place overlapped with my last post so I did my best to focus on the areas I didn’t explore last time. There was of course a lot to see and
I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. And this week was my birthday. You know what that means? I completely ignored The Felon this week. And it was a healthy thing to do. We could all do with ignoring The Felon as he contributes nothing meaningful to the world. In fact his obituary will be the most helpful
I went back on the Des Plaines River Trail an traveled away from Independence Grove. Beyond this park I found my way to another one. Wilmot Woods Forest Preserve was the next location on my adventure down the trail. There was a lot to see and like many other locations on the trail, there was a lot to look at.
As promised, I returned to explore the Independence Grove Lakeside Trail. This adventure took place on my birthday, and following that tradition, I found somewhere stunning to explore. As not promised, I once more went the same direction around the park. Unfortunately, like the the last few times, this created a few places with duplicate pictures. This time though, I
