Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Brown L. Whatley Memorial Park
I continued my adventure around San Marco Florida by traveling to Brown L. Whatley Memorial Park. Unfortunately I hit a bit of a snag.
I know for a fact that while traveling around Brown L. Whatley Memorial Park that I took more pictures than the ones shown above. Yet when I looked at my phone images to upload them, these were the only ones I could find. I’m not sure what happened.
A shame that I lost the other images. Though small, the park had plenty to see. There is a bridge that crosses the little creek that runs through the park. Plenty of benches dotted the landscape granting a peaceful place to chill. Like the last couple parks I visited, this area seems quiet and peaceful despite the fact that downtown Jacksonville is just down the street.
Pokémon Go:
One of the pictures I lost was my map of Brown L. Whatley Memorial Park in Pokémon Go. Overall, while the park itself has little to offer on its own, it is close to several other parks, making it worth the trip if you are willing to walk a bit around the entire region.
Then again, this park does have three Pokestops and at least some spawns. I have visited several parks that have none of those things.
By the time you read this, the Eevee pictured above will no longer be an Eevee, but an Umbreon. Our short time adventuring was fun, but its time for me to travel with a new buddy. In the next post, you will find out who.
Hey look its me again. At least that picture made it onto my phone. I was the only one at the park most of the time. The mask stayed in my pocket. Let’s hope the pandemic ends soon so we can have a new normal where people travel to parks and go outside more.
There are still plenty of parks in San Marco to explore. And I’ll be sure to show you as many of them as I can. Look forward to more adventures.
