Hey look. Its Surviving the Quarantine Post 18. This blog variant has joined American adulthood and I grow one step closer to making this a habit. Check out the rest of the series here.

As the numbers of Covid 19 cases slowly decrease in Florida, I am certain people will let their guard down which will cause cases to rise again. Humans are idiots and predictable.

Politically, people seem to be virtue signaling right now over the human trafficking issues. I call it virtue signaling because they only care because people they hate might be connected to it. They don’t care about the kids.

People who actually care about kids would be doing more proactive things. Proactive things like getting the kids out of cages at the border. Or helping reform the prison system that turns people into slaves legally. And let’s not forget that the actual human trafficking organizations are being harmed by all the misinformation getting spread around.

The Good:

Anyway, all the other bad stuff has already been outlined to death. Let’s focus on the good while I feel the ability to shrug off the negative things happening in the world.

Anime:

Re: Zero continues to be the main attraction of my Anime Watches. Truly this show is an absolute spectacle. But Fire Force, Misfit of Demon King Academy, and The God of High School are also puling their weight. Oh and a Certain Scientific Railgun is airing again.

Writing:

I’m preparing to submit a story I wrote that is a sick spin on Alice in Wonderland. In case you thought I have not been writing thanks to my job, you would be wrong.

Speaking of writing, even though its a few months away, I am already planning what I will be working on for Nanowrimo this year. Exciting things are coming. Especially since my current job is helping me stabilize financially.

Job:

Speaking of my job, I was paid multiple compliments this week by coworkers. Telling me that I am going above and beyond means a lot to me. One of the reasons I am working so hard at this job is due to finally getting a management position. After dealing with so many terrible bosses I have set out to be the leader I always wished they had been to me. It seems to be working.

Looking Ahead:

This upcoming week, I get the special privilege to give a presentation on writing villains in fiction. I can’t wait to talk at length about a part of storytelling that has come to define my work. Antagonists are the driving force of conflict. Without them, you don’t have a story. Which is why I feel that they are underutilized most of the time.

Dungeons and Dragons:

This week, two of my Dungeon and Dragons Campaigns happened. Both played out very different from each other. Of course, this is unsurprising since the group of one story is violence inclined while the other prefers to talk things out first.

Cycle of Millennia:

In Cycle of Millennia, the party continued their harrowing journey through Kranaak’s hellish realm. The Paladin in a crowning moment of awesome, fought a Lich all by himself and won.

Of course, given the fact that the Lich is still out there somewhere and the fact that this was a realm where it was a captive, this might have been all according to plan. If this was true, that would mean that this is the third time in the story that the group had been tricked into doing a Lich’s bidding.

After a few more fights, the party was forced to cross the assembly line where pact weapons are made. The Former Cultists found a safe solution and used her powers to protect the others as they crossed to the other side.

Unfortunately, as they did, the group entered a hallway that triggered the deaths of multiple innocents. The party is left wondering if there was something they could have done to save them all. Next time, they will get the chance to avenge these civilian’s deaths.

Centrum Glacies:

Centrum Glacies went the complete opposite route of the other campaign. There was little fighting at all. The group arrived in a city strangely empty of people. And while the citizens and guards assured the group that this was simply what happened during a time of war, the party was not convinced. Their suspicions only grew thanks to all the eyes watching them.

Eventually, they found the Silver Rank Adventurer’s Guild Inn and found the massive building empty. Yet, there were signs of prior use and recently at that. Worried that either the Demon or Vampire was up to no good, the group set off to check the town again.

However, before they left, Engelique appeared and confirmed that their ally, who had been wounded by the Demon stalker bore a horrific gash that not even her incredible powers could heal. The group left and hoped that the Witch could protect their friend and not betray them.

The Warlock was dragged along by the Druid who set out to check on his animal friends. Meanwhile, the Paladin and Machinist decided to learn more about the town by helping the remaining craft smiths.

Racism:

Unfortunately the two were an Elf and a Dwarf. Problematic in the Southern Continent which was filled with Human Supremacists. An angry mob formed around the two. But they ignored the peasants. That is until one tried to stab the Paladin with a pitchfork.

But neither was phased by this attack. The Paladin simply grabbed the weapon and broke it before causing the angry man to run away screaming. Unfortunately, the guards heard this commotion and were not pleased. They asked the two to finish their business quickly and leave town.

Instead, they returned to the inn and cooked some food while keeping company with a former Desert Bandit Leader and a dangerous Witch. They still don’t trust the latter.

Meanwhile, the other two found their cat companions and tried to return to town with their allies in tow. When they did, one of the gate guards hissed that the two needed to go to the slums if they wanted to save the town. Realizing that something fowl was at work, after all the guard had trouble even warning them of danger, they set off to find their friends.

What will happen to them when they find the dark secret of this place? They came in search of a Vampire and they know that a Demoness is watching their steps too.

Anyway, everything else has been mentioned. Let’s focus on the Nuzlocke part of the blog post. Make sure to check out my Twitch Channel. You can see the story in real time.

Heartgold Randomizer Part 23:

Yet again an evil organization tried to set up an evil plan in Johto. And once again a Demon possessing a child forced a 10 year old to fight them. Up the Radio Tower I fought. I had tried to use a sneaky disguise to gain entry but Sylva appeared and ruined that.

I fought my way through countless Rocket Grunts including one who I am convinced was their leader in disguise. He used a Latios, Giritina, and Dialga. He had more control over reality than even I did.

Anyway, I reached one of the top floors and to the surprise of no one in the room, he was a Rocket Executive. Admin Petrol used Azurill, Dugtrio, Alakazam, Carvanha, Magby, and Illumise. When beaten the idiot gave me a key to move forward with ruining their plans. No wonder Team Rocket continues to fail.

Heartgold Randomizer Part 24:

I left the Radio Tower and headed underground. Almost immediatly Sylva appeared again. And this time he battled me. He used Delibird, Swinub, Dragonite, Cleffa, and Oddish. After accusing me of being weak despite his team being a glaring example of the word, he stormed off.

After fighting my way through countless shit talking grunts and a couple random bandits that tried to steal money from me unsuccessfully, I found the actual Radio Tower President. He proceeded to give me several ideas of how to enslave everyone in Johto before handing me the key to stop Team Rocket.

I climbed up the Radio Tower a second time and opened an area I couldn’t reach the first time. In my way stood three Rocket Executives who I crushed in turn. First Proton with his Buneary and Dratini. Second, Ariana with her Latias, Masquerain, and fell before me.

The final Rocket Executive stood on an observation deck at the top of the tower. He claimed that his dream was to bring Giovanni back out of hiding. I laughed at his weakness internally since I couldn’t reveal things a 10 year old would never do. His Team of Starmie, Houndoom, and Fearow did not stand a chance against mine.

Heartgold Randomizer Part 25:

As a reward for apparently saving the world, the President of the Radio Tower granted me an item that granted me access to the Bell Tower. I decided to pay the place a visit. As it turned out, I caught Homer the Golduck while exploring.

Wanting to continue my journey towards world domination in this twisted Johto, I ventured to Route 44 where I caught Sadness the Feebas. Next I entered the Ice Path and caught Snek the Seviper in the freezing caverns. Though what such a Pokemon was doing living there I’ll never know.

I emerged in Blackthorn City where wild Voltorb lived in the water. I caught one and named it Megumin. But I was not permitted into the Dragons Den. Laughing at such foolishness while having the Dragon that controlled space itself in my possession, I looked to the south to see what I would find.

Heartgold Randomizer Part 26:

On Route 45, I caught A Sun the Solrock. Not really pleased or displeased, I returned to Blackthorn city to teach the self proclaimed Dragon Master Clair her place in this world.

After navigating some lava and a few rafting puzzles I came face to face with the final Gym Leader in Johto. She used Bronzong, Shellos, Porygon Z, and Exploud. None of those were Dragons. To show her who was boss, I used Z and Set, both of who are.

Yet despite trying to act like an adult, she threw a temper tantrum when I beat her and refused to give me the badge. She claimed that I needed to pass the Dragon’s Den Trial. So I ventured inside to show her up yet again. I caught Bruce the Hitmonlee along the way.

At the end of the cave, I found an elder who asked me questions. Knowing that if I answered truthfully, the people here would realize that this child was possessed, or at least a sociopath, I lied. Then Clare stormed in and I upstaged her. No matter how many worlds I do this to her, I never get bored of it.

Wrap Up:

Well, there will be more next time. This week has been great to me. I hope I don’t burn myself out working as much as I have these passed few weeks. Look forward to my next post.
