Surviving the Quarantine: Post 19
Here is Surviving the Quarantine Post 19. So close to turning this into a habit. I wonder if the Covid Lock-down will end right as I get used to doing this. Make sure to check out the rest of this series here.
My life has improved as I finally caught up on most of my bills. Unfortunately, the world has gone into the next level of hell. Let’s talk about the negative first so we can focus on the good things happening in my life.
Kenosha:
Anyway, let’s talk about Kenosha, Wisconsin. Chicago is my home city, but Kenosha is even closer. I went to this small Wisconsin City constantly growing up. Thus even more than the Magnificent Mile which I even in the last couple years have walked down, this place really hits close to home.
Of course we can’t talk about Kenosha without two things. One, Police have completely overstepped when it comes to Jacob Blake. I don’t care if he was armed, I don’t care if he has a criminal record. The Police are not judge, jury, and executioner. The military can deescalate better without violence.
Second, I won’t name him cause he’s a minor, but there was a certain 17 year old terrorist who attacked protestors. And people are calling him an American Hero? Really now? Attacking people with a weapon and breaking multiple constitutional laws to do it? Sounds like a criminal to me.
Oh and as for self defense. I continue to be amazed by the values dissonance of Conservatives. Its self defense if a guy walking into a crowed armed with a gun shoots people. But its not self defense when a crowd spots an enemy walking towards them with a gun pointed right at them.
Political Madness:
Also as the world continues to get more insane, a certain conspiracy theory that only is allowed to be in the public sphere because it fits in perfectly. I’m talking about QAnon. I can’t do this batshit nuts religious terror cult justice. Read about it here.
Also speaking of madness, the Republican National Convention is happening while I’m writing this. Mike Pence and Melania Trump continue to prove that they are the most dangerous people near the Orange Turd.
Amusingly, Mike Pence’s quote “In Joe Biden’s America, you will not be safe” is true. But not the way he intends. In Joe Biden’s America, White Supremacists will not be safe to lynch innocent black men and women. They will not be allowed to attack synagogues and blame it on liberals. And most importantly, his supporters will no longer be safe to ruin the United States.
The Good:
Ok, I’m done with negative. Just reading the above is making me so furious that I’m losing the energy to write the rest of this post. So let’s move on.
Anime:
Re: Zero continues to be the main attraction of my Anime Watches. Truly this show is an absolute spectacle. I will never see bunnies the same ever again. But Fire Force, Misfit of Demon King Academy, and The God of High School are also puling their weight. Oh and a Certain Scientific Railgun is airing again.
Work Finally Paying Off:
My job continues to help me gain experience moving forward. And I’m happy to finally have extra money for the first time in months. Hell its been since January, before Covid 19 even appeared that I felt financially secure.
I tried for a long time to do a presentation even digitally. But I finally got my chance this past week. At the Writers of Central Florida or Thereabouts, I gave a presentation on writing villains more effectively and turning them into true characters.
Apparently my class was well received. Even some writers who didn’t attend asked for the slides of the power point. Not bad considering I thought the whole thing was sloppy. Only way to move is up right?
Dungeons and Dragons:
Let’s talk Dungeons and Dragons. I ran three of my campaigns this week. All felt different from each other. The first featured the party exploring a haunted house, taking on Poltergeists, and even talking to a ghost. After searching for clues they learned a little more about… just kidding. They are even more confused than before.
Now, they are heading towards the attic of the mansion. They don’t know what is up there, but given what they faced to get here, it won’t be pleasant.
Cycle of Millennia:
Cycle of Millennia was host to one of the most titanic clashes of the entire story. Or it would have been, but the party realized in one of their few bouts of brilliance, that fighting against 3 Ancient Berserker Knights turned Demon Lords in zero gravity was suicide. So they fled. Fled for their fucking lives.
They are still fleeing by the way. And the party is split up since the Monk managed to launch himself across the massive battlefield at more than 1000 feet per second.
Centrum Glacies:
Meanwhile, over in Centrum Glacies, the party found their way to the lair of the Yandere Succubus that had killed tons of people around them and enslaved the town they had ventured to. She forced them to play a cruel game since the Warlock had denied her advances.
The party traveled through an underground cavern where the missing townsfolk had been bewitched into attacking the party. Now wanting to kill any (mostly) innocent people, the party tried subduing and knocking them out instead.
However, the Demoness had one final surprise in store for the party. Hidden among the townsfolk were Vampire Spawn. The group had forgotten about the Vampire that had fled here! Had the Demon even taken control of him?
The party now needs to play a deadly game of wack a mole. Play poorly and innocent lives could be lost en mass.
Persona 4 Golden:
So I am taking a break from Nuzlocking. I beat the Elite 4 in Heartgold but don’t want to do that write up right now. Its going to take a lot of work and I had a long day. Instead, I’m gonna focus on what I’m now going to play through on Twitch.
Since I got passed the Elite 4, I finally got Persona 4 Golden. I’m not too far into the game yet, but I have a couple Boss Fight Kills to share. Make sure to check out my Twitch Channel if you can’t wait a week for updates on my play through.
Anyway: Boss 1, Shadow Yosuke.
And Boss 2, Shadow Chie
Wrap Up:
Well its been a strange week for me and a devastating one for my childhood backyard. Hopefully things improve for the United States in a week, but I doubt it. 2020 isn’t that sort of year.
