Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: High Park
For the last park in the Baldwin Park Region, High Park had a lot of positives going for it. Let’s take a look.
High Park features two areas. The walking trail which I took most of my pictures is open to the public. The other section is not so open. I only managed to snag a couple images of that part. I’ll show you those in a moment.
The lake or pond, whatever it might be classified as does not seem to have a name. I can assure you it is not the much larger Lake Baldwin located across the street. Whatever the case, signs adorn the shore informing guests to the area that this place is the natural habitat of many animals. Explore with care.
Something that really stuck out to me at this park are the splits in the sidewalk. On the left, one stays close to the street, on the right, one gets a chance to be close to the shore. Dividing these sections are gardens. Each one is different from the rest. One of them is pictured above.
Restricted Area:
As I crept nearer to the private area of High Park, it was evident that there was a difference in the two sections. The open area was where to be part of nature in a safe environment. Meanwhile, the restricted part was man made and filled with covered spots.
I got very few pictures of the private area since it was in use and I did not want to bother residents. Instead, I took images of another of the split gardens. Oh, and since I didn’t include it in the last section, here is one of the warning signs. Its the last image in this section.
I completed my loop of High Park and saw a few spots different from the rest. Notably this open field looked like a prime spot for some athletic activities of a picnic. Though the fact that Baldwin Park is all around this spot, perhaps there are better areas to choose for such events.
One final split garden is shown above. I truly enjoyed the attention to detail found in this park. Even a simple design can have beauty when designed correctly.
Pokemon Go:
Amusingly, Pokemon Go does not consider High Park to be a park at all. As a result, there are few spawns and the only Pokestop of note is right at the entrance to the restricted section. I would advise against coming here for Pokemon Go alone. Check out Lake Baldwin Park which is visible in the above image.
Sorry I did not hatch any eggs at High Park. But since I am returning to Cady Way Trail, expect that to change immediately. Baldwin Park had many beautiful areas. But it is time to find new ones. Who knows what I will find next?
