Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Guernsey Park
Continuing my journey through College Park, I went next to Guernsey Park. This park had a few features that were not obvious when I first arrived.
Guernsey Park makes up for its small size with diversity. There are three different regions within this area. The first is the two ponds near where I entered. With a viewing area on one side, I was offered the chance to sit and relax if desired.
But I do not sit while exploring parks. I moved on to the other areas. Normally, playgrounds are filled with children and those are situations I avoid taking pictures of. However, I was all alone at the park. This afforded me the opportunity to take images of the whole place freely.
The final aspect to this park is the open field. Like many Florida parks, plenty of empty space is allocated intentionally. And although I saw no others here. it would not be difficult for multiple groups to use the park unhindered by the others.
Finally, though it is part of the playground, Guernsey Park has a basketball court. Many of the parks I have visited recently have been filled with playgrounds and open fields. It is nice to have basketball courts return after an absence.
Pokemon Go:
In Pokemon Go, Guernsey Park is almost nothing to look at. The ponds are not even properly marked. Using the game alone would lead one to believe that this area is an open field. Thanks to the two Pokestops, there are a couple spawns here, but still nothing noteworthy. I still have yet to find a park in the area to recommend for the rare spawns. Perhaps I will find one soon.
I hatched a Pichu. Have I mentioned that I hate Pikachu? Well I have now. Hopefully I will get something better next time. Perhaps the next place I explore will lead to something spectacular both in game and in reality. Until then, look forward to next time.
