Surviving the Felon: Week of 8/09/2025
I’m back with another instalment of Surviving the Felon. As we move farther into August we have to do everything in our power not to feel overwhelmed and frustrated by everything happening in the United States and the world. As The Felon continues flooding the zone and using mainstream media to keep us perpetually exhausted, sometimes it is best to not do that doom scroll or keep that TV going. Instead we need to protect our energy so that we can fight back when it really counts.
I’m still finding peace of mind when tackling tasks one at a time and not worrying about how those tasks will impact me farther down the road. That doesn’t mean to ignore problems until they become insurmountable. Instead I’m saying to tackle each problem one at a time and not wasting the energy needed to fix an issue with worrying about it.
This week I read something insightful about how cosmic horror, my favorite genre to write within, read stories from, or play video games that include their aspects, is not only about coming into contact with impossible horrors from beyond time itself, but also grappling with existential dread that we are not who we want to be. As the world becomes seemingly worse with it getting harder and harder to succeed, it made me think about why I like this genre so much given my frustration with where life has taken me.
The Bad
While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.
With me mentioning existential dread, let’s get right into the bad. I’m worried as The Felon, Pedophile, Terrorist who is pretending to be President continues to destroy the United States and its economy that I’ll be suffering the consequences for the rest of my life. Its making it hard for me to even want to have children. That of course assumes I would ever be able to have a family in the first place. Existential dread and all that noise of course. Sometimes even when I try to be positive, the world makes it hard given I feel like its impossible for me to be where I want to.
The Deep Closeted Heel Man continues to attack Florida, notably the areas that defy him and The Felon. The place I live happens to be one of those places. I never voted for either of these sociopaths and I wish I didn’t have to suffer their narcissism one minute more. And speaking of sociopaths, we should probably watch closely what is going on between Texas Democrats and their governor because if he manages to arrest his opposition, it hints at a horrible future for those of us on the right side of morality.
And lest we forget, there are still concentration camps being filled. Not only with immigrants anymore, but homeless people too. The 13th Amendment did not get rid of slavery. It simply changed how one becomes enslaved. And the prison industrial complex will not get those slaves themselves after all.
The Good
It might seem like everything is hopeless and fighting back is futile. But fight back we will and must. I always try to concentrate all the horrible things happening in one section of this blog so that we can get it over with quickly. Hence why I focus on the good from here and until the end of this post. Sometimes that little light in the darkness is what we need. And it isn’t always a fire demon charging at us from a mineshaft. Sometimes that light is actually something genuinely good.
I am not hearing news of the Fox Man clashing with The Felon, but that means its more likely going on behind the scenes. I would be more worried if those channels owned by him reported that things were better. The mainstream media makes tons of money on misery. And so showcasing positive news such as fascists fighting with each other is against their interests. But these clashes are continuing, and it is within our interests to fan the flames of these clashes so that we have less fascists to fight later.
The Window Shover is still clashing with The Felon and should both of them suffer, the world wins. Neither one must be allowed to defeat the other. The best thing possible is for them to drag each other down. They are both wastes of space and the world will be a better place once they are both gone.
I commend Governor Pritzker of Illinois for continuing to stand up to The Felon. May we all continue to do the same. The Felon is a weak and spinless creature and standing up to him is the easiest way to slowly defeat him via many cuts.
Transition
Well its time to move away from what’s going on politically for the rest of this blog. Sometimes the best way to fight back against the evils going on around us is to protect our energy. Finding joy in the little moments of our lives can be a potent energy source that gives an unending supply of smiles, laughs, and love. I have been checking on friends and family more frequently over the last few weeks and have no intention of doing that less.
Being the change I want to see in the world is giving me renewed hope as I feel like I might be inspiring even a little bit of good in the world. And if you are reading this and feeling down and hopeless, I hope some of the things bringing me joy may help in turn to bring you out of the darkness you find yourself in. Even if we have ten bad days in a row, all it takes is for that eleventh day to be something remarkable for us to find a reason to keep going.
Workouts
I added a new section to this blog. For months I have been wanting to get back into shape. And another friend reached out to me recently feeling the same. So we are both holding each other accountable and getting our bodies in better shape. I’ll be posting what workouts I do on this blog so that you can all hold me accountable too.
Please don’t judge me for my low numbers thus far, I’m still only getting started after all. But my very first workout I finally ran a proper mile on the treadmill for the first time in years. I followed that up with 20 pushups, and 20 squats. Meanwhile I did a second workout a few days later that added 20 more pushups, 20 more squats, as well as 40 seconds of planks, and 20 crunches. These are small numbers, but as I get my body more accustomed to doing this I’ll be upping these numbers.
Don’t forget, I work outside and get plenty of steps in at my job. According to Pokémon Go, I walk on average 5 Kilometers a day. That’s a little more than 3 Miles for my friends who still are using an outdated measuring system.
Video Games
I might have done some workouts to get my body in better shape, but most of my time is still being spent avoiding the Florida sun the best I can. Naturally that means video games are still my main recreation activity. This time, I’m playing Expedition 33 while I write this blog post. I have made it to a story heavy section in Act 2 and story beat after story beat is convincing me that this is Game of the Year material. The soundtrack especially is one of the best I have heard in recent years.
Genshin Impact still has plenty for me to do this patch. I still have several quests to finish and plenty to explore. Not to mention tons of treasure to find to get my summon resources ready for Nod Krai takes them all away. Even though we are now an additional year away from Snezhnaya I’m completely locked into the story of this game. There are days where it is a major reason I choose to keep living.
After a lot of pushing and nagging, another of my friends is playing through Elden Ring, and I have been running plenty of coop with him so that we both can get a fresh experience from it. And between taking on bosses together and fighting off enemy players, sometimes at the same time as those bosses has once more given me plenty of new content to enjoy in the lands between.
Helldivers 2 gets an honorable mention as I also played a few rounds with friends. And found a whole lot of super credits along the way. Unlocking more items to try out is always a good time in this Starship Troopers parody.
Pokémon Go
The summer heat is not letting up. And fighting against nature is a pointless battle. Sadly that means less hikes in Pokémon Go. Severe thunderstorms in the late afternoon mean that I have missed a few raids hours too. So I am eagerly waiting for the summer to end so I can return to one of my favorite activities. Going on hikes and discovering new places always brings a smile to my face.
A raid event happening this next week will force me into the sun. Dialga and Palkia Candy is just too valuable a resource for me to ignore. I’ll be drinking plenty of fluids to keep myself hydrated and using sunscreen to protect my skin.
I am finding out more and more that everyone is having a tough time in PvP this season. It isn’t just me. Stardust farm it is then as I continue to improve. A shame most of my opponents are getting better too.
Anime and Shows
The stacked Anime Season this summer is giving me only more reasons to stay inside. I am not fully caught up on everything this week, so I’ll talk about those ones I have not watched first. Luckily that list is small with only My Dress Up Darling, Kaiju No. 8 remaining for the week.
Dandadan, Rising of the Shield Hero, Call of the Night Dr. Stone and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt have all continued to impress. And I can’t believe that there are many more weeks to go before any of these shows are done airing for a while.
Dr. Stone has my vote for best episode of the week. Not only did I learn a bit about how geography changes over thousands of years, but the episode dealt with some interesting logic puzzles that kept me thinking after the episode was done.
I got some episodes of One Piece in this week and officially made it to Fishman Island. I am eager to see how the Straw Hats have changed during the timeskip. And I know the world became more dangerous too.
Dungeons & Dragons
I didn’t run a session of my Centrum Glacies Campaign this week. Real life had more important demands for me and several of the people in the campaign. We will continue next week. Likely with a more combat heavy session.
Writing and Editing
I finished the somber section of my newest Search for Eden Novel and am moving on to several heavy and story significant sections back to back. Before I continue though I need to check something involving several characters and make sure I position them where they need to be to ensure the story flows better. I am looking forward to where things go once I figure these things out.
Reading
I finished The Book of Dust and was satisfied by how it ended. Admittedly I was surprised that the story was able to resolve several plot threads so quickly. This is of course after being used to this sort of thing from Brandon Sanderson. Then again, Philip Pullman writes differently so perhaps that is why I was caught off guard.
I started reading the next book in that same series: The Secret Commonwealth and seeing Lyra grown up has been an interesting change in the story. Still, I’m excited to see what happens as this setting has so many potential possibilities.
Wrap Up
We made it through another week of August. How are we feeling? Hopeless perhaps? Maybe depressed given everything happening? However we may feel, we can’t let the negativity of The Felon overtake our minds and hearts. He cannot be allowed to completely ruin our happiness despite his best efforts. Instead we need to focus away from him as best we can and find the things in our lives that bring us joy.
Remember, The Felon and his cronies do not experience joy the way regular humans do. As they are parasites, they gain from hurting and stealing from others. They don’t understand art except in a way that they can gain monetary benefit from them. And in a way, we should then pity them for being so weak and incapable of experiencing the wonders of the world.
While the Capitalist Class continues spending every moment of their lives figuring out how to make a green line go up, the rest of us should focus on creating art. Art is what makes the world worth living in. And it is no coincidence that these activities are demonized when it comes to education. It also is no coincidence that we associate school in the United States with getting a job and not learning.
And so for this week, I encourage you all to do something that the ruling class claims is a waste of time. We should not follow the example of a Felon, Pedophile, Terrorist pretending to president. Instead lets be our best selves that allow our heart to beat as one.
Its time to smile and outlast The Felon. Together.
