Centrum Glacies Session 115: Hall of Statues

Admin/ August 15, 2025/ Books, Centrum Glacies, Dungeons and Dragons

Week 115 of the Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues as the party fights down a hall of statues.

Like my other campaign, I’m turning this one into a book seriesYou can check out the first one here.

Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing in the book series.

!!!Trigger Warning!!!

This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture, psychological warfare, child abuse, and slavery.

Most recently, the party helped cause a complete planetary genocide. Save a few survivors, no one remains from that world. They are still grappling with this unfathomable loss of life and their role in making it happen. It is clear that their suffering is far from over. They can only hope they don’t cause untold pain to an even more untold more.

!!!Final Trigger Warning!!!

Obrom, Jyona, Kisara, Persephine finished dealing with another group of machines. Surprisingly there was little tension between this subsection of the party. Minus Kisara throwing Obrom at enemies that was.

That was not the case for the other group. Engelique came out of her time stop well rested and asked Trent if he really thought this was the time for petty revenge. He had no issue being honest. The Druid stated that this was a perfect opportunity to seize the Law of Time from her.

She wasn’t angry at his betrayal especially given the sorts of schemes she had concocted with Persephine. Instead, Engelique lectured him on why his actions made no sense. After all, they all knew how Persephine would have reacted to such a theft. She would have eradicated him and his friends.

But there was an even worse outcome. If he had somehow succeeded in fighting off both Witches, the Orcs would claim the Law instead. A fate that none of them wanted. Most of all, Trent himself. There just was something strange about the Orcs that he hadn’t figured out.

Conflict of Views

Still, Trent had other grievances involving the party’s past relationship with the Witches. He did not appreciate the fact that the group had been used as sacrificial pawns several times now. The witch grew even more frustrated. She pointed out that at no point had either she or Persephine seen them as tools to throw away. Ever since the very first time the Mythril Adventurer had approached them to get the Law of Silence the two had been gauging their progress.

The druid asked “why me? You can handle it everything on your own.”

Turned out that such a statement was not true. Engelique showed a rare moment of vulnerability in explaining that without the party they would have failed at several objectives. She went on to list all of the party’s exploits to the Trent and just how much they have actually accomplished. Unlike Engelique and Persephine, the party is capable of making friends without using fear, intimidation, or trickery.

While their discussion continued, Engelique noticed something odd that had continually passed her by. Despite having it in their possession when they first came here, the party didn’t have the Law of Mind. She asked Trent what they had done with it. He refused to answer of course.

Teztcal watched this whole exchange in silence. A very concerning thing in itself. And off brand for the brash Dragon too.

Throwing and Teleporting

Meanwhile, Kisara lead the other group through the maze again. She stopped after seeing another sentry down the hall. Again she grabbed Obrom to use as bait against the nearby enemy. Once more he was not happy but lacked the physical strength to fight against her.

This time though Jyona was ready to intervene. She used her enchanted watch to teleport Obrom backwards in the middle of flying through the air. The artificer proceeded to scold the Dragon for her behavior. But to no avail. Kisara was just as stubborn as her “father”.

Jyona sighed and squeezed by the Dragon to initiate combat with the sentry. She acted quickly to ensure that Kisara wouldn’t have time to try throwing Obrom again.

Trent’s group finally settled down and started moving again. There was still tension in the air, but they had come to an agreement at least.

They come to a hallway with quite a few sentries. in it. An entire hallway of statues in fact. And unlike the first group, they had not fought them yet. And so they prepared for battle against an unknown enemy. Engelique included.

Jyona’s group reached yet another room with more statues. This time she tried to tinker with one of them to see if it could be disabled before it activated. Unfortunately, she failed miserably in the attempt and caused the opposite situation. Instead of being turned off, they activated and attacked the group.

Trent’s group also arrived at another room of inactive cyborgs after dealing with the sentries in the hall. They already knew how to deal with these constructs and once more activated the machine to take on the awakened machines.

Wrap Up

Teztcal and Obrom are a bit beat up. And everyone is still worried that the Orcs have been so quiet. What is this potential threat waiting for?
