Surviving the Felon: Week of 5/10/2025

I’m back with another instalment of Surviving the Felon. As we get further into May and the northern hemisphere heats up for what looks to be a hot summer, especially here in Florida, we have to cling to hope light and love. After all, the summer heat brings with it chances to be outside and in the water. Which in turn brings attention to the environment.

As the Felon, his lackeys, and the Venture Capitalists who got him elected continue to ruin and pillage the only planet we can survive on for the sake of their mental illness veiled as good business, we all must stand together and protect our world from them. Which I know is an upward battle. But simply choosing to continue resisting The Felon in any form is.

If we only focus on the bad, we won’t have enough energy to appreciate the wonderful things hidden by those dark shadows. We still can have hope. Not all is lost as you will see when I get past all the bad of the week. But let’s dive in and see what happened in the United States, around the world, and in my personal life this week.

The Bad

While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage FoundationPeter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.

Anyway, let’s get through the bad as fast as we can. The Felon went after the Library of Congress. I shouldn’t be surprised that a place filled with books and headed by a woman would come under his fire. Those are after all two things his little brain can’t handle. Still, as a writer, a place that holds all books for the sake of copyright and historical reasons is a place that Nazis like The Nazi and the Other Nazi would love nothing more than to burn down. How else will future people know how to stop subhuman creatures like them?

ICE is speedrunning their way to being the Gestapo and the police to the surprise of no one who remembers why the police were founded in the first place is helping them. It was for slavery by the way in case you didn’t know. The jail systems exist for the same reasons plantations did in the past. Read the 13th Amendment and you will understand. But taking citizens and legal immigrants and kidnapping them without due process poses a threat to every single person in this country.

Looking at a the wider world for a moment, India and Pakistan are in a maybe war right now. And that is bad for everyone because they are both nuclear powers. I don’t think either one will use such weapons, but in hypothetical war between two nations with tons of bad blood towards one another, I can’t imagine it continuing in any fashion will be a good thing.

The Good

Well the bad is over for this post. Let’s focus on the good because that is where our energy to resist and defeat this evil comes from. And defeat The Felon we will, because every other country around the Western World that has had the option to choose another like him has rejected that. One by one, countries are looking to the United States as an example. An example of what not to do that is.

I can’t talk about the good this week without giving a shoutout to my hometown of Chicago. A Governor who is rich enough to fight back against The Felon? Check. The first Pope from the United States? Check. And that Pope also hates the Felon and has called out the Couch Humper plenty of times too. I hope that every day The Felon wakes up to defeat for the rest of his worthless life. The fact that so much of his failure comes from my city makes me smile.

As The Felons policies hurt everyone more equally some than others, I’m glad in a more cruel way than I am proud to admit that its hurting those who support him in ways that are more painful than him hurting me. The fastest way for Fascism to fall is for infighting to happen. And in a way the sane of us should encourage this infighting between the different hate factions. Turn them against each other and we won’t have to fight them ourselves. We will get through this. And the less of them left to hurt us, the better.

Transition

There is a lot happening around the world. At best I am an novice journalist and can’t come close to reporting even a small smidgen of what is happening around the world. But I’m trying my best to highlight a few issues that matter to me and that I hope matter to you as well. As usual, the rest of this post is gonna pivot away from the world and instead look at what I was up to this week.

I like sharing what makes me smile each week. And I encourage others to do the same. It is not narcissistic to want to share what you like with others. Who knows maybe your words reach someone desperate to get their mind off things. Hence why I share links to all my different activities.

Video Games

As usual a lot of my time has spent on video games. Not only do I get a lot of writing inspiration, but they are my escape from this sometimes cruel reality. A good video game can help keep my mind off negative stuff for hours at a time and then when I need more energy to do other tasks, like writing a weekly blog post, I can do so. Eldin Ring took a backseat this week as I spent more time on other games.

Helldivers 2 also took a backseat this week. I have been focusing more on single player games. And while it is alarming how little I’m interacting with people with the moment outside of work, I need plenty of me time right now. And those breaks are healthy for me.

Genshin Impact is what I am playing right now as I write this blog post section by section between tasks. But it is not the only game helping me accomplish chores around my house and other matters. Much of that credit goes to Oblivion which has been the reason that I played some of those other games far less. And the fact that some of the glitches and jank from the original game remain only makes the experience that much better.

Pokémon Go

I once more did not go on a hike this week. Instead I stayed up late with friends gaming from afar which was an important point of social interaction for me. But as I slept in, it was far too hot to go for a hike by the time I was awake. Perhaps next week I’ll go to sleep sooner and beat the sun to the punch.

I did however play plenty more Great League Remix in Pokémon Go PvP. And I think I finally found a team that worked for me. My rank slowly has been increasing although with plenty of mistakes and mishaps making me fall back down again over time. But I feel a bit more confident than last week at least.

Anime and Shows

I am not caught up for the week on Fire Force. That seems to be a pattern. But as usual I’ll get to it before the next blog post. It’s mostly gonna be fights in the show for a bit I think. Though given how fast things have moved, its possible that I’ll be reaching plot significant twists soon.

I got a little further into Thriller Bark, this week. I’m enjoying this arc of One Piece and I’m reaching ever closer to the end, but a lot of my time that could be spent watching the show was instead turned towards Oblivion. Don’t worry though, I intend to finish this arc as soon as I have the energy for it so I can reference a different arc instead.

Dungeons & Dragons

Unfortunately, there was no session of my Centrum Glacies Campaign this week. But I still spent some time prepping for what is coming. I don’t despair at taking a week off. Instead I use it as an opportunity to get further ahead of my players and try to predict how they might react in a given situation.

Writing and Editing

This was a week of personal time. And much of it was spent on video games and drawing inspiration. I was not idle though as I made sure that my editor is currently looking at my Earth Everafter Manuscript while I rest. I’ll be back to writing and editing next week. I just needed some time for myself to rest and refresh.

Reading

Last time I said I was reaching the end of what is published for Tower of God so far, but this time I’m in the home stretch of it. There is a spinoff being written about Urek Mazino and he’s one of my favorite characters so I’ll be sure to read that soon.

But in the more immediate future, I’ll be starting the first novel of His Dark Materials, The Golden Compass (known as Northern Lights outside North America) . This series upset a lot of religious people all around the world and so for clear reasons I am obligated to read it given I write stories that will upset those same people. What better place to draw inspiration from?

Wrap Up

Well we made it through another week of May. And for the majority of us, The Felon has not claimed complete control over our lives. As we continue to fight against his wicked ways, we instead should focus on what brings us joy. Our smiles are powerful and can fight back against the despair that he and his cronies thrive on.

Still we must buckle down and prepare ourselves because the economy of the United States is going to suffer from his actions. And that will intrinsically affect other countries throughout the world. But remember, we are not like those soulless sociopaths. They have built entire lives around making money rather than something productive and wonderful like the rest of us. Those people are nothing more than parasites and contribute nothing of value. They only take away from others.

Remember that whatever The Felon and his cronies target with ridicule is what is important for the rest of us. Whether it is art, music, writing, reading screaming at the moon, or whatever else one might find joy in, remember that we are able to enjoy these things, while they cannot. Being able to care about others besides ourselves is what makes us better than him.

Together we will outlast The Felon, The Nazi, and the Other Nazi while our heartbeats drown out their screams as they fail to succeed in their wicked goals. We will Survive the Felon with our collective souls together and unified.

And then once we feel better, we can look as relaxed as my cat on this couch.
