Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Liberty Park
For my next adventure, I explored Liberty Park in Lake Mary Florida. While the name of the park makes me cringe a little. You can read my Surviving the Felon Series if you wanna know why that might be. But what I found at the park was a nice corner of quiet with plenty of space for multiple people. Let’s take a look.

Liberty Park is actually split into two sections and as one of those is a trail, I decided to save that for a separate blog post. One of the next I’ll write I imagine. But don’t worry about what I didn’t show, let’s take a look at what I did see.
From the entrance sign to just down the narrow road that leads to the park, there is plenty of sequestered off green space. Even before the parking lot, I walked past park benches and empty expanses of small field that gives way to trees. The fact that these features show so close to the entrance makes me think that there are enough people who walk to the park rather than drive, that this decision was to accommodate them. I hope this is true because it means the area is designed to be more walkable.
Beyond the parking lot, there were several other people visiting the park and didn’t want to risk getting any of them into my photos. Instead I passed that area by and focused on the back section of Liberty Park. I saw several gazebos closer to the trail as well as a restroom. Given that many of them were located beyond where I stopped, I’m excited to see what is on the trail. I feel that section is even better than this one.
Pokémon Go

I had a great little stroll while exploring Liberty Park in reality, but how did this place measure up in Pokémon Go? Well the picture above should help to paint an answer. I was constantly catching Pokémon almost the entire time I was there. And while there were less stops and no gyms in sight, there was still enough to restock if I had decided to come later.
I saw a lot of rare spawns too. Which is notable and something I noticed because as of this post, there are several long term research tasks that are having me pay attention to every Pokémon I catch. Given how exciting the front half of the park was, I bet the second section will be even better. If you are near Lake Mary Florida and are looking for a green space to play Pokémon Go and have some peace and quiet, give Liberty Park a look.

Here I am and look how much happier I look than my last couple adventures. Probably has something to do with the rising sun not being in my face. But what do I know, I only happened to be the one taking those pictures. The second half of this park seems even more exciting than this one was. And I’ll have to delay exploring it a week, because I’m going somewhere amazing next week. I am planning to have a unique adventure and will do my best to take pictures and write about it.
