Surviving the Felon: Week of 6/14/2025
I’m back with another instalment of Surviving the Felon. This was a crazy week with a lot of truly terrible things happening. And that is what the news is focusing on. I’m making the mistake over and over again of reading all these awful articles which of course is making me see more of them. This is something I need to stop doing because its making me depressed. And this is also a reminder to anyone reading this that happens to be making the same mistake to stop.
Instead, we need to focus on the good in the world. And although this week had some truly blood curdling tragedies with signs that things are truly spiraling into a dark place, we must not forgot that this week also featured some wonderful additions. Communities came out and supported each other all over the United States to say no to the Felon.
We outnumber him and we will outlast him. In fact we should remember that the propaganda being pushed to make is feel hopeless is happening because The Felon fears us. So long as we resist he lacks complete control and as a control freak he can’t have that. Keep resisting and keep standing up for what is right. So long as that continues we will not lose to him and his wicked goals.
The Bad
While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.
Anyway, I first want to talk about an issue that I have a lot of mixed feelings on, but at least for the moment fits in this category. Of course I’m referring to the escalations between Israel and Iran. With Pakistan threatening to join the conflict and several other countries preparing for the worst, this looks like a uniformly bad situation. I’m considering writing a blog post about this conflict because there is a lot gong on here but for now, I’ll be watching this one carefully.
Next I want to bring up the Minnesota Democrats that were shot in their homes with their spouses. I fear that this sort of terror will continue. After all The Felon is a domestic terrorist with stochastic terrorism being one of his favorite past times. This is another situation to watch carefully because if the people responsible are not held accountable, it opens the door for a lot more of this to happen.
Lots of other bad things have happened this week, but I’m feeling a little whirlwind of negativity even trying to recall. And so I think I’ll continue henceforth with looking on two important issues a week. Anything more threatens to make this blog far more negative than I want it to be.
The Good
Ok we made it through all the negative. Everything else on this post will be much more positive. I’ll be giving the most positive thing that happened by far this week its own section, so let’s talk about a few other happy things going on in the world. I want to talk again about the conflict between Israel and Iran. The one positive thing that happened for sure was the destruction of Iran’s nuclear capabilities. It won’t be the last time they try to make such weapons, but a regime that believes in causing an apocalypse in the name of God should not be allowed to possess such items.
Russia is weakening. Their war with Ukraine is bleeding them dry and The Window Shover is on the ropes. The war between Israel and Iran harms that war even further. See I told you there was a lot going on there. Perhaps The Window Shover’s power will crash and burn as his people become more and more willing to stand up to him. I’m hoping for a future where Russia can finally be a peaceful nation again.
Another positive for the week, although with some lingering problems is that the Sag Aftra Strike is finally finished. While they had some good intentions, specifically to protect voice actors from AI, the higher ranked members of the Union showed their greed a little too much and have turned a ton of public opinion against them. A lot of studios are looking and English Voice Actors outside the United States and I fear that there will be more lasting negative effects from this overreach. But at least its over which is what I want to focus on.
No Kings Protest
Now I want to talk about the biggest highlight of the week. Protests against The Felon and his stupid little military birthday parade took place all over the country. This includes deeply red states like Florida and Idaho. I participated in the protest in Orlando. The city is a blue island is a sea of red madness. And I was proud of my community which was not too many years back directly effected by right wing extremism during the Pulse Shooting that we still have fight in us.
This protest along with many others did not get violent and more importantly, did not give The Felon what he wanted. In fact these protests took away from everyone focusing on him. This is one of the best ways to harm a giant baby who only cares about themselves. He will never be a king. He is nothing more than a festering wound that needs to be removed. And the world will rejoice when he is no longer capable of harm.
A Single Gripe
My only gripe with the protests and in the grand scheme of things, minor issue is the sheer number of people waving Free Palestine flags. Jews around the United States are worried about violence targeting us from the very people who should be our allies. And I have personally found the alliance between the Palestinians and Black Lives Matter to be strange to the point of astroturfing for years now. But that whole issue is complex enough for its own blog post and I’ll say no more on it.
Instead I want to focus on the community building such events showed. We outnumber his supporters. And they cannot force us to behave the way they want. Civil disobedience will continue as the President is our servant. We do not serve The Felon.
Transition
Clearly a lot happened this week. And much much more beyond what I wrote that this blog just is not able to handle. But now that I have talked about news domestically and abroad a little, I want to focus in on myself. This week I had a battle with depression and its still not over. And when these moods hit, more than at any other time, it is vital that I find things that make smile and laugh.
The world can be a horrible and gloomy place. And mainstream media in the United States and abroad makes a ton of money from making people anxious and depressed. I’m sure that at least one person who reads this post is not having the best week. And that is why as usual, the rest of this post will be about what I’m focusing on to stay happy.
Video Games
To the surprise of no one who has been reading these post since February or after that, video games are a vital and important part of me finding my center in my darkest times. Genshin Impact once more is the game of choice I’m using to break up sections of this blog so that I don’t feel overwhelmed. It’s why games such as Oblivion and Elden Ring are helpful as they like Genshin have segments with checkpoints between them. Such games which are high on replayability are not only good investments money wise but also help me complete important tasks and I jump into them again and again.
This week I also played Tales of Symphonia a bit more. I’m at one my favorite parts of the game and decided I wanted to save that segment for a time when I have plenty of free time. Perhaps that will be today. It’s the Temple of Lightning which is one of my favorite dungeons ascetically wise and its a major story moment for one of the main characters.
Another game I played this week, which came about because of an irritating situation I’ll mention further down, is Baldur’s Gate 3. I played this game a lot when it first came out, but did basically everything I wanted between several playthroughs. But this time around a couple friends and I decided to try honor mode. We already had one failure which happened to an early fight against bandits, but our second attempt is looking a lot better so far.
Pokémon Go
As Florida is still way too hot as we move closer to summer, I did not explore the world with Pokémon Go this week. Instead I was outside protesting. My body passed out soon after and I slept for a good ten hours. Though I did catch plenty of Pokémon on my way to the event. Downtown Orlando is a good spot to play after all. Oh and there is an event going on where several Pokémon I need to catch are spawning. Specifically Rhyhorn.
And many of those Pokémon that are spawning are useful for me as far as PvP is concerned. Rhyhorn specifically because I can finally try my hand at Master League once I have a Rhyperior fully powered up. I have played a lot of Great and Ultra League, but Master League requires a lot more resources to play. Hopefully I’ll have a team built for that soon. Probably several given how the meta tends to shift whenever new legendries are released.
Anime and Shows
This week I did watch Fire Force before I wrote this blog post. Its getting near the end but as plot points come together I have one clear criticism. A lot of the side characters I’m not fully invested in. Several people are now working together as the story has lots of twists and turns but in many cases I don’t even remember who some of the characters are or why I should care about them. I know part of that problem is because the show aired over several years, but its a bit jarring compared to the other show I’m watching.
That show of course is One Piece. I’m all done with Impel Down and making my way through the highly emotionally charged Marineford Arc. I was told again and again by several friends that this is one of the best arcs in the show and I can see why. The intensity is even higher than Water 7 which is my other favorite arc. And I already know that this specific arc ends with a powerful gut punch. Several characters introduced at different points in the story all have arcs that intersect here and I understand why the saying is that Oda never forgets a character.
Dungeons & Dragons
This week I was unable to run my Centrum Glacies Campaign. Roll20, the website I use so that my friends and I can run the campaign was not working and although it did actually work by the time we normally would have played, I had made other plans as had the others.
But if not for that issue, we wouldn’t have played honor mode in Baldur’s Gate 3 so happy accidents and all that. Besides, it gives me more time to do prep work and make sure I have plenty content ready for my players. And as the story gets more complicated and I have to account for chaos from the group, I like to be ready.
Writing and Editing
I didn’t explore the world this week, or have a blog post about my campaign, but that didn’t mean I was idle. In fact I got a ton of editing done this week. Only one chapter remains of my most recent editor recommendations for my Earth Everafter Novel. And while I’ll still have a good third of the book left for him to look at after that, I’m moving much closer to those edits being finished which is a massive undertaking.
And I managed to get some writing done too. I’m almost up to one of the major climaxes of my fifth Search for Eden novel and its a twist that I have been working towards since the very first book. I’m excited to finally put to page an idea trapped in my head for years.
Reading
Depression can cause us to harm ourselves in unusual ways. Its one of the most insidious parts of having such a disability as a constant companion. This week, the greatest casualty of my mind was that I did not read much. I’m still working on The Amber Spyglass and have two more books sitting on my room just waiting to be read.
I can’t let my mind be distracted. Reading is a healthy escape from some of the harsh darkness in our world. And since it is gonna be dangerously hot outside for several months, reading is one of my best chances to go on adventures.
Wrap Up
The Felon was hoping for us to break out into violence so he could declare martial law. We didn’t let him. Instead we stood in solidarity as peaceful protestors and showed this country what it means to be unified. The Felon wanted a military parade that focused on him and made us all treat him like a king. We didn’t let that happen either. Instead we focused on everyone else and took attention away from him. His parade was pathetic. Our protests were legendary. They will continue as will our unity. We are strong together and The Felon is weak.
The Couch Humper has been silent. And the feud between The Nazi and The Felon continues to weaken their hold on everyone. The Window Pusher is losing his war in Ukraine. And The Other Nazi, one of the other masterminds of our misery is running out of nourishment. These parasites will be removed from our world one by one and we will rejoice when we are free of them.
Our hearts beat as one as we push back against The Felon. Fascism never wins in the end and for its ever resurgence, we have a chance to crush it that much more decisively. As we each find our light, we can stand together against The Felon. He will fall and no one will catch him when he does. We will survive him and be that much stronger for it.
Here is a cat just vibing.
