Megacon 2025 Day 3

Admin/ February 12, 2025/ Anime, Conventions, MegaCon, Video Games

As the quieter days of the event faded away, I returned to Megacon 2025 for Day 3. It was the busiest Saturday I had ever seen at the event. But in the back of my mind, that Simpson Meme hovered. This was the busiest day 3 so far. It wouldn’t be the craziest I had ever seen. Certainly not after the success of the event.

Given how busy things tend to get on Saturday, I had to pick and choose both my photos and the panels I attended with care. But while I attended less panels, I did get to got to a meetup for a group cosplay. I have not mentioned my own cosplay thus far in the blog and that is because my own attempts pale in comparison to some of the more talented people I saw at Megacon.

But for the sake of this post, and to save myself explaining later, I arrived at Megacon 2025 Day 3 as Dottore Second of the Fatui Harbingers.

Cosplay

Saturday is the busiest day at the event. And with the sheer numbers of people that gave me plenty of options for pictures. But as before, I chose this times with care. There were massive crowds making at times it impossible to even ask a person or persons permission to be part of this blog.

Still there was plenty that caught my eye. I saw a Hisoka, but was informed that her friend was not Illumi from the same show. And I overheard the two discuss how she “had told her that people would assume this.” I guess I didn’t feel too bad for the mix up. Speaking of being accurate at identifying cosplay, I made a Bug Catcher smile by seeing his actual costume and not assuming he was Luffy.

A Weeping Angel stopped me from blinking or looking away. And a Beast drew my eye due to the attention to detail. MissingNo the glitch Pokémon made an appearance. Unexpected and welcome. Another welcome two costumes I enjoyed were the Oscar the Grouch and Super Grover.

Rounding out the cosplay I saw were a Green Requiem, luckily not healing any Heartless. I also saw another Bloodborne Hunter. But no beasts all over the shop. The Raphael was one of the best I saw at the event. That contract in his hands is not scribble. Its a completely legible document. That takes dedication.

Genshin Meetup

Obviously many of the pictures above depict Genshin characters. That includes myself. I went to a Genshin Cosplay Meetup. And its one of my favorite things to do at Megacon. What better way to meet other Genshin fans than to talk to people who love the game enough to make costumes depicting their favorite characters.

I was reminded how much more work I have to go on my Dottore Cosplay when I found another one. The Spider Man Pointing Meme is a tradition of mine by now. And it makes sense with this character.

I also took some pictures with Pierro. Its my first time seeing a cosplay from him. And the mysterious leader of the Fatui is popular on appearance alone. I wonder how much more I’ll see of him when his full backstory is revealed. I also found a Pantelone. As Dottore’s right hand Harbinger, I couldn’t miss a chance to take some pictures with the rank 9 Fatui.

I ran into a Arlecchino and Columbina that I talked to for a bit at the Genshin Meetup. But I didn’t get a chance to get pictures with them at the time. I found them again later while on the sales floor and asked for a photo. Arlecchino is rank 4 of the Harbingers and one of my favorite playable characters. Meanwhile, the mysterious Columbina, rank 3, is my absolute favorite character in the game.

One Piece Panel

I only got to go to one panel on Saturday. And even then I had to wait in an hour long line to do so. But that should be no surprise considering who was there. A majority of the English Voice Actors for the Straw Hats were present. And they had a lot of answers for the countless One Piece questions.

As of this blog post, I have only reached the Enies Lobby Arc of One Piece which means I have over 900 episodes to go till I’m caught up on the show. Obviously I was worried about spoilers given how far behind on the show I am. But honestly, those things don’t matter to me. One Piece has been running for such a long time that avoiding spoilers is near impossible.

Instead I’m enjoying the journey. Even if I didn’t understand many of the jokes talked about at the panel, I knew a few things mentioned. Its how I know that One Piece’s Fandom is a large coalition that I’m technically part of now. I can say in hindsight that I should have started this show sooner, but I was always scared off by the sheer number of episodes. But now that I’m in the thick of it, I can finally enjoy it.

Wrap Up

Saturday was the busiest day of Megacon 2025 by far. And while I didn’t see as many notable people, I had a whole lot of fun checking out artwork and going to the Genshin meetup. Its impossible to see everything at the convention sadly. But I made a good attempt to see everything that I wanted.

I was excited to see what I would find on the final day of Megacon 2025. Especially as the price of artwork decreased alongside the massive crowds. That isn’t to say that Sunday is quiet because its still the weekend. But its not Saturday. Nothing at Megacon is like Saturday.

You won’t need to wait long for the final post. Look forward to the final adventure of Megacon 2025 soon.
