Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Beck Ranch Park
My next adventure took me to Beck Ranch Park. This place has a rich history and had plenty to look at.
I came to Beck Ranch Park right as the sun came up. So I got some spectacular pictures of the sky and a bit of fog too before is disappeared. Fog is my favorite weather phenomena and not just because I’m a horror writer. The way that clouds obscure the ground is a bit unique. I wonder if that is what birds see when they fly through clouds?
Anyway, on the way to the park proper, I passed a couple signs. The first few told me where I was. Then again I already knew that. But the other one was much more interesting. A trail starts here. And not the one I hiked to get here. I’ll be exploring that one in the future.
The entry way to the park had a lot more to see than similar places nearby. Naturally that means even before I fully explored this place it already gained a unique spot in my memory. You can see what I mean from the above pictures.
Dog Park:
The next section and first proper part of Beck Ranch Park was dominated by two things. But one of them I could only observe at a distance. Not that I can’t draw attention to it. From what I could tell, its one of the main reasons to come here.
I’m speaking about the dog park. Its right in the middle and seems well designed. Then again, I don’t have a dog, so I might be completely wrong. Before I visited though, I read some reviews that said it was a good dog park. I’m inclined to believe it.
The second feature of the park in this section that would continue through the rest were signs talking about the history of this part of Florida. I always am an advocate for readers visiting the parks I explore. Thus as usual I won’t be telling you what I learned about Beck Ranch Park. But the internet exists if you really want to know. But please, come check this park out. Its pretty neat.
Park Park:
Beck Ranch Park wouldn’t be a park without a well… a park. And I mean for the kids. We already have a spot for our beloved pets. Its sheltered from the sun and possibly the rain, but I didn’t get to test that while here.
There are also plenty of shelters scattered around the playground so that the parents have somewhere to rest too while the little ones run around outside. This place seems quite peaceful in general. And not just because I was the only one here. I bet when its not cold by Florida standards this place is crowded.
One other point of interest that drew my eye was the collapsed building. I’m not sure what happened to it. Probably another casualty of Hurricane Ian. But whatever the case, I didn’t get to close and try and figure that mystery out. Instead I took pictures so that I could look at the ruins from a safe distance.
Back Park:
At the back end of Beck Ranch Park, I found volleyball and a couple more shelters. The park has plenty of spots tailored to different ages. I know many parks do this, but I appreciate every single green space that tries to be as accommodating as possible.
Parking lots are available for the prior spot and this one. I don’t talk about it much, but being accessible to everyone is something I care about a great deal. Several positive points for this park putting in the effort to make sure that every single spot is reachable by those who are not able to walk as far.
One last thing and unrelated to the last couple points. My adventure through the park was right at the start of the morning. You can watch the sky transform in the photos from sunrise until closer to mid morning. What a remarkable transformation in the span of about thirty minutes. I need to go explore earlier in the morning more. I love being outside as the sun comes up.
Pokémon Go:
Let’s take a look at Beck Ranch Park in Pokémon Go. From the picture above, I think its clear that this is a fantastic spot to play. Tons of Pokestops with even more spawns every step of the way. Three Gyms also stand out. Don’t let this park’s relative small size fool you, this is a prime Pokémon Go spot.
In conjunction with being easily accessible by car and foot, there should be no issues reaching every stop and catching every Pokémon that you might want while here. As an added bonus, the park is a nest too. Currently I think Seel is that Pokémon, but it will change to something else as nests tend to in this game.
I hatched a Pichu and while doing so, spotted the only flaw I have with this park. At least for me, reception was a little spotty. But that might just be me.
Shiny Noibat is still my buddy. I do love showing it off since at least for now its fairly rare. I don’t mind others getting it during its upcoming community day though. Evolving this little Dragon Bat is quite tough and time consuming. Not that it minds since I get to take it cool places.
Here I am in desperate need of a haircut and a shave. But neither of those things stopped me from enjoying myself today. There are so many more places to explore. And beard or no beard, I intend to visit as many of them as I can.
