Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Lake Carola
I decided to explore more of Sanford for my next adventure. That adventure took me to Lake Carola.
Lake Carola is a quiet little spot nestled between the much livelier downtown Sanford and the also more lively Fort Mellon Park. Guess what park I’m going to check out next time I visit this part of Sanford?
Anyway lets talk about this park and not future adventures. Given the relative lack of humans at the lake while I was here, there were tons of birds gathered to enjoy their own peace and quiet. I did my best not to disturb them. And while I was rewarded with plenty of pictures of said birds, they of course took notice of me and moved away.
In addition to wild life, there are plenty of spots to sit and to stand at this park. With plenty of greenspace several groups of people could visit here and do their own thing without bothering other people doing the same. I feel that everyone should visit places like this from time to time. Our lives are chaotic and sometimes we need to bring life back to quiet before moving on with our day.
I might not have covered as much ground today as I do when I walk a trail, but this adventure was fun in a different way. I got to stand and think. Something that I don’t spend enough time doing at this point in my life. Maybe I should seek out more parks like this one?
Pokémon Go:
Here is Lake Carola in Pokémon Go. With plenty of spawns and just as many Pokestops, this spot is awesome in a vacuum. But this park does not exist in a vacuum. Why stay here when playing Pokémon Go? This park is connected and adjacent to downtown Sanford. And if your goal is Pokemon Go, this should be one of several stops on your catching adventure.
Hatch some eggs while catching tons of Pokémon. But don’t limit yourself to just this park. There is so much to do near here that you might as well do it all.
Look at the baby Mindflayer. Only a few more brains until it can start its plans to- I mean look at the Inkay. Look how innocent and cute it is.
I didn’t wear a hat a today. Good thing I didn’t regret that. Visiting parks like Lake Carola in the morning has become a thing that I look forward to every day that I don’t work. If only blogging could be my job.
