Cycle of Millennia 2022 Session 43: Demoness Seeks Good Man
Here is week 43 of my 2022 Dungeons and Dragons Campaign Cycle of Millennia. They are not prepared to deal with a Demoness and her strange wish. This Demoness seeks good man.
Don’t forget that this campaign has been ongoing for over three years. There is a lot of story to cover and I’m writing a book series to document it all. I am adapting this adventure into a book series. The first three are on Amazon.
!!!Trigger Warnings Abound!!!
This campaign takes place in an incredibly unpleasant setting. The party has dealt with Human Traffickers, Sex Slavery, Child Sacrifice, The Apocalypse, Genocide, Wicked Cults, and other related topics.
There is a God of Madness that is fond of causing auditory and visual hallucinations, makes use of psychic gaslighting, commands the literal legions of hell, and all around causes untold suffering in the setting.
Essentially, nothing is off the table in this campaign. If the above ideas are not ones you want to think about, I do not think this blog series is for you. That is not a problem and does not indicate any failings on your part. I am a storyteller that does not shy away from the darkest topics. It would be horrible for me to not warn my audiences of this in advance.
!!!Final Trigger Warning. Past this point there be dark topics!!!
Caethia told party what she wanted. Apparently she wasn’t as upset over being randomly summoned as they feared. However, they almost laughed at one of the most dangerous beings in the entire world when she requested what they would need to give her for her assistance.
The Demoness feared by the Elves and the entire world wanted to have a baby. Apparently her descendant’s betrayal had stung. And kidnapping someone else’s child wouldn’t do. Had to be a child with her genes. Oh and the father needed to be an Elf. Naturally this disqualified every single member of the party. Not that any of them were interested in helping Caethia sire a child directly.
But as it turned out, the group had just reconnected with a womanizer of an Elf. He had bragged about his sexual conquests with Dragons. Maybe a Demon would excite him just as much. Grez returned to the Land of Dragon. He had a plan.
Unfortunately as he started talking to Orengar, the Elf made use of some power that none of the party were aware of in the setting. Apparently Caethia had a unique scent and somehow this Elf who had never met the Demoness before recognized it immediately. Apparently while Orangar would flirt with basically anything, a Demon Lord was off limits.
An Unethical Plan:
Grez had never been one to take no for an answer. So he stopped time and knocked the Elf out. They could bring him to Caethia unconscious and let her have her way with him for all the Monk cared. But the still unnamed Copper Dragon had not ignored all this and gave them some of his own input.
While none of them underestimated her power, the Dragon explained the party that to Orengar Caethia was just another Demon. She along with her two allies were considered the most wicked of creatures among the Elves. The sort of monster that parents warned their children about to behave. Naturally Orengar wouldn’t willing go anywhere near her, much less sleep with her.
Luckily, this Dragon didn’t have some false sense of justice. And they needed the spring water. Ironically for Orengar. So the Dragon gave them an idea. Apparently Dragons and Demons had similar auras. If Caethia transformed into a Dragon herself, she could trick the Elf.
Now ready to enact their plan, Party returned to Caethia. At first she expressed disappointment that they had returned empty handed, but when they told her what her role would be in their scheme, she seemed absolutely delighted.
Eleth Returns:
But, she admitted that despite all her thousands of years of study, she was not completely familiar with Dragon physiology for this bed trick they were going to pull to work. But one of her allies knew everything there was to know about Dragons.
So Caethia summoned Eleth back from the Demon realm. Unfortunately, the Demon Dragon was still upset over the party’s recent victory over her. She took her anger out on the party while Caethia explained what she plotted.
By Eleth’s request, showing she now respected this group, she had Caethia place a unique spell on her body. The Party could not hurt her. At all.
Velkoara refused to play this game and simply sat down to eat. Caic tried running into the Elf village. Naturally this didn’t stop Eleth from attacking him through portals. She could warp space after all.
Temper Tantrum:
Grez grew frustrated at not being able to fight and uprooted a tree. That wasn’t wise considering this was an Elven forest. The Monk didn’t always use his wits when angry. In fact, he rarely did.
Naturally, the tree was alive and mobile. And so were its friends. They didn’t like being uprooted and surrounded Grez. But angry trees did not threaten the Monk, especially transformed into a giant ape like he was currently.
Grez stomped around Elven village. Not only did he make a lot of noise, but he pulled out his artificial moon as a final insult to the Elves. The Monk was feeling chaotic chaotic at the moment and had lots of pent up energy to spare.
But eventually his fury faded. He turned back to his normal size, and left without the rest of the party. Leaving the rest of the group to deal with his most recent temper tantrum and the consequences of his actions.
Down one member, the rest of Party spoke to Elf Elder who demanded to know why Grez had just rampaged in the waters near the village. Naturally the rest of the group was at a loss for his most recent outburst. The Elder warned that next time he would be banned from the village.
He also demanded to know why two of the most dangerous and infamous Demons in existence were at the entrance to his town. Caethia remarked that if she really wanted to destroy this place, she could do so effortlessly. Putting the Elder on his back foot, she mentioned that her task here was done and she would leave shortly.
Enacting the Plan:
Eleth explained that she would lead Caethia through the canyon maze and meet them in the Land of Dragons. That way Orengar wouldn’t suspect what was happening.
With this plan all set to be put in motion, the party returned to the Land of Dragons and met up with Grez. Explaining to the Copper Dragon out of Orangar’s ears what they planned to do, they made preparations. Though the ancient Dragon shuddered at the thought of both Eleth and Caethia coming here, it was the best way to go about this.
With only one thing left to do, the group convinced Orengar to come with them. Apparently Eleth transforming into a Dragon had removed the Demon’s scent. So all that needed to be said is that they had found a cute Dragon for him to meet.
Wrap Up:
This is going almost too well. Will something ruin this plan?
