Cycle of Millennia 2021 Session 19 Interlude: Freed
Here is week 19 Interlude of my 2021 Dungeons and Dragons Campaign Cycle of Millennia. Lets go over session 19 Interlude: Freed.
Don’t forget that this campaign has been ongoing for over three years. There is a lot of story to cover and I’m writing a book series to document it all. I am adapting this adventure into a book series. The first three are on Amazon.
!!!Trigger Warnings Abound!!!
This campaign takes place in an incredibly unpleasant setting. The party has dealt with Human Traffickers, Sex Slavery, Child Sacrifice, The Apocalypse, Genocide, Wicked Cults, and other related topics.
There is a God of Madness that is fond of causing auditory and visual hallucinations, makes use of psychic gaslighting, commands the literal legions of hell, and all around causes untold suffering in the setting.
Essentially, nothing is off the table in this campaign. If the above ideas are not ones you want to think about, I do not think this blog series is for you. That is not a problem and does not indicate any failings on your part. I am a storyteller that does not shy away from the darkest topics. It would be horrible for me to not warn my audiences of this in advance.
!!!Final Trigger Warning. Past this point there be dark topics!!!
Hadron, Caic, and Antoinette slowly broke free of the spell that gripped them. Caethia had trapped them in Kranaak’s realm when they learned of a Demonic Attack coming for their allies. But either because they no longer needed to be held there or through their own powers, the magic waned.
Once they were free, they realized that they had to escape. They might have no time to warn their friends, but at least they could help fight the Demonic Hordes. But there was only one way out according to Antoinette. And it was right past the throne room.
At Kranaak’s altar, Antoinette taught Hadron how to use advanced Berserker Knight techniques. They needed to use ranged pact weapons to complete a ritual at the very center of the Demon Realm. But this would take time, and the three knew that at this place sacred to every Demon in existence, that their trespassing would not go unnoticed.
Before they could escape, Luna appeared. Or rather the Demon controlling her body did. She was without a doubt the worst thing in the entire realm besides Kranaak himself to run into.
Deadly Encounter:
Luna beat the shit out of Hadron and Caic before they could properly defend themselves. She was just that strong. And fast.
Left with no option Antoinette used banishment to remove the ring keeping the group trapped with the super Demon. Velros had granted her such a potent item long ago. Hopefully she would be less threatening in the future without it.
The three fled. And they were lucky to escape Kranaak’s realm alive. After a brief stop at the Dwarven City, Antoinette transported herself, Caic, and Hadron back to the Berserker Knight Temple.
After resting at the Berserker Knight temple, the three returned to Lord Death. Hadron wanted to ask her some questions, but she wasn’t in that mood after their harrowing adventure.
With all the parts assembled Caic prepared to be freed from his Wereboar curse. A good thing the group had given them to Lord Death for safekeeping.
Anotinette went to do her part for the ritual. Lord Death and she were still not on good terms given all that had happened prior.
Lord Death told Hadron that Grez and Velkora were currently in Innovia City. And that they might be in trouble.
Wrap Up:
The group will be reunited soon if all things work out. But what will happen when Kranaak’s army strikes? And where will it appear?
