Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Crabtree Park

Admin/ April 18, 2021/ Florida, North Florida, Travel

Continuing my adventures, I found Crabtree Park. After recently moving farther north in Jacksonville, Florida I had plenty of nearby places to check out.

Crabtree Park showcases once more how Covid 19 has changed so much of our lives. I explored this place on a Saturday and yet it was empty. I imagine under normal circumstances, this park has children at play, and their parents nearby making sure everyone is safe.

Crabtree Park has a baseball field, space to relax, and basketball courts. The last of those interested me the most. I’ll show you why in a moment.

Though it rained earlier in the day, it had stopped by the time I came to Crabtree Park. Anyway, my favorite part of this park has to be the basketball courts. I loved the artwork on the ground. Most of these places have simple courts with grey and dreary ground for the courts. I was pleased to see that some artists got to have some fun this time around.

I wonder how busy this park is when it hasn’t rained and there isn’t a pandemic going on. Hopefully we can all get vaccinated soon and look forward to a new normal. A new normal where these parks can all be used safely and at higher capacity than is possible right now.

Pokémon Go:

Well I have showcased what I found in the real world. So how does Crabtree Park measure up in Pokémon Go. Unfortunately, a well designed basketball court does not translate to a Pokémon Go hotspot. With only one Pokestop and very few spawns, I do not recommend this park if you are looking for spots to play. Take a look here if you want to play baseball or basketball.

The Eevee traveling with me had fun at Crabtree Park. It liked the bench and basketball courts the most.

Crabtree Park was empty. I took the opportunity to show you all my maskless face once more. People have asked me why I always look angry when I take pictures. I’m actually not. That is just what my face normally looks like.

Wrap Up:

There are plenty of parks near where I moved to. I plan to visit as many of them as possible before I move to Orlando next month. Look forward to another adventure soon.
