Surviving the Quarantine Part 22
Surviving the Quarantine is feeling 22. This week was not more of the same. But all of these changes spun towards the positive. Don’t you worry. Be sure to check out the rest of this series.
Well, we might as well get the negative out of the way. Not too much has changed in the world. It’s helping my sanity to focus on bettering myself right now, but my ears are ever watchful for chaos.
The political election continues on. Wildfires are spreading like crazy in the western United States. And the Census is still under the legal watchful eye. I would like this third issue to resolve itself soon.
The Good:
Well that’s all I have for the bad. I’m pleased that the list is so much smaller now than it was even a month ago. Let’s get into the good.
First and most importantly, two of my friends came to visit. They stayed the weekend and we all made sure to stay safe since we had not been together in months. Would have been silly for us all to get sick after all.
While here, we watched a couple TV Shows and even a movie. It was great to be able to spend time with some of my best friends. Even with my job at the Census, my exposure to others has been minimal since the pandemic began.
Video Games:
Next on the list is another big deal. I saved up money thanks to my birthday. This was the moment of truth. Could I find a Nintendo Switch to buy during the pandemic?
As it turned out, I found one. I had to drive almost 50 miles roundtrip, but I would say it was worth it. Currently an Nintendo Switch sells online for over $350.00. I got one for $200.00 that was new. That’s called winning.
With the Nintendo Switch comes more access to Pokemon Sword and Shield. However, I also now had my own Switch, and that meant my own island on Animal Crossing.
Wasting no time at all, I started an adventure on the Island of Zozo. (I have never heard of it) Come visit Zozo a wonderful place where it never rains, there are not horrible creatures waiting to eat you, the townsfolk love you while always telling the truth, and most importantly, the head person is certainly not turning the whole place into an open air prison.
Anime:
Re: Zero continues to be the main attraction of my Anime Watches. Truly this show is an absolute spectacle. I will never see bunnies the same ever again. And even more is happening. Will this show threaten my top three favorite Anime? Time will tell.
Fire Force, deserves its own paragraph finally. The show has finally gotten back to what I loved so much about the first season. The fanservice that I can’t stand is taking a backseat to incredible storytelling and I’m looking forward to more of it.
Misfit of Demon King Academy, and The God of High School are also puling their weight. Oh and a Certain Scientific Railgun is airing again. While not as notable as the other two, I keep watching these shows so they are still worth checking out.
Dungeons and Dragons:
Since my friends visited last week, I was not able to run most of my Dungeons and Dragons Campaigns. But what I did run managed to be quite a spectacle.
Centrum Glacies increased in chaos as more plots were uncovered. After learning that a Vampire Hunter had personal reasons for killing the Vampire that the Succubus had under its thrall, the party once again gained an enigmatic ally.
When confronting the Succubus in an underground garden, she used the Vampire as cannon fodder. The party reacted to this dangerous combo by flooding the cavern with magical daylight. The Vampire melted to such a strategy.
However, the Succubus managed to stay invisible while using hit and run tactics on the group. This proved fatal for the group as they sought to find her. The Machinist managed to draw her wrath and had their eye clawed out by the insane Demon.
That fight is far from over and is only going to increase in excitement next time. A certain DM has a whole lot of fun planned for that story soon.
Persona 4:
Hey look, I played more Persona 4 this week. Check out my live streams here on Twitch. This week I have two boss videos for you. That would be because these two fights happen one after the other. Sweat deal.
Up first is the incredibly uncomfortable and not at all safe for work Boss 5: Shadow Rise
Up next we have the less controversial but much more difficult Boss 6: Shadow Teddie.
Wrap Up:
Things happened to be positive for me this week, but we all know how tempting fate works out for me. I’m gonna tread cautiously forward knowing that something horrible is likely to happen soon.
