Surviving the Quarantine: Post 16

Well its the sweet sixteen of these posts. Here is Surviving the Quarantine Post 16. Make sure to check out the entire series here.

Well plenty of good happened again this week so let’s get the bad out of the way first. Luckily there isn’t too much. Better stop though, otherwise I might skip the bad entirely.

Florida Problems:

The most pressing issue I face is that I was potentially exposed to Covid 19. I’ll know by the time of my next blog post if I actually caught it since that will have been long enough to showcase proper symptoms. Here is hoping I’m healthy in a week.

So a hurricane came and missed luckily. But plenty more are coming and I fear what will happen here in Florida. This state has proven completely inept at dealing with the Coronavirus Pandemic. Normally, this state does just fine (relatively) with hurricanes, but I’m unconvinced that this will hold true.

No Nuzlocke:

I have been busy working. That is not a bad thing of course. But since I worked so much, I did not play my Nuzlocke the entire time. You will notice that this post will be significantly shorter as a result.

Wasps and Ants:

Now that my mental health is under control, I can focus on a few more mundane issues instead. Its wasp season in Florida and I am terrified of them. The last couple days, some little shits built a nest on my door. I couldn’t even avert my gaze while entering my house.

Luckily the nest is cleared away now. But the specific species that built their lair on my house is stubborn. Mud Wasps will keep coming back to the same spot no matter how many times they are repelled. At least they are less aggressive than some other species.

Speaking of bugs, remember a few weeks ago when I mentioned my brain was messing with me by causing bug bite sensations? Well, it turns out I did have bugs in my room. Well at least more recently I did.

Specifically ants found their way in and even attacked me in my sleep a few times. Luckily they have been repelled from my house for now. But even more than wasps, ants are stubborn. And since I am not the cleanest person on the planet, its only a matter of time before one of my messes attracts them back inside.

The Good:

Well I skipped over politics because nothing has changed that much. With that in mind, lets focus on the good. There is quite a bit to tell, even if there is no Nuzlocke Entry this week.

First, I am getting paychecks consistently for the first time in a long long while. The debt mountain is starting to sink. I already paid off my auto insurance debt and averted a serious crisis in my life. Next up is the much larger rent debt hill. But I think I can conquer this obstacle.

Anime:

Re: Zero continues to be the main attraction of my Anime Watches. But Fire Force, Misfit of Demon King Academy, and The God of High School are also puling their weight. Oh and a Certain Scientific Railgun is airing again.

Persona 4:

So, I have decided that I will get Persona 4 as soon as I finish my Heartgold Nuzlocke. I probably should take a break from Pokemon and Persona will give me something related but different while I wait expectantly for Nocturne.

I managed to play two of my Dungeons and Dragons Campaigns this week. Both had some serious twists and turns.

Cycle of Millennia:

Cycle of Millennia has been twisted for a while courtesy of the players running around literal hell. In this most recent adventure, the group came upon Demons possessing corpses. Nothing the group has not seen before. However, the Alchemist’s newfound anathema towards tentacles was used against her since the Demons manipulated the bodies to terrify her.

Centrum Glacies:

Meanwhile, in Centrum Glacies, the group fought of Zombies and Wights near an old tower. However, the reason they had gone into the wilderness ultimately was to lure out the serial killer stalking them. And found them she did.

As it turned out, the killer happened to be a Demoness who the party had saved. She wanted to show her eternal gratitude to the Warlock. Unfortunately, said character fit the Shonen Protagonist Tropes to a T. This is quite dangerous since the Demoness fits all the Yandere Tropes. Its cause for a massive body count in fact.

She almost convinced the naive man to go with her. Luckily the rest of the party saved him. However, she had one final card to play. Warning the group that the nearby city was in danger so long as she was not granted what she desired, the Demoness vanished in fury.

The party spent a lot of time discussing how to handle this situation. Not only is there a Vampire to hunt. But a Serial Killer Succubus seems to be watching their every step.

Wrap Up:

Well this was an interesting week. I’m working hard to get as much money as possible. Sad to remember that in a couple months, I’ll need another job. Here is hoping I can stockpile some savings so that I can find a career rather than just another job.
