Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Curry Ford Road
Through a combination of factors today, I had to forgo exploring to find a park. As I had to drop my car off at a repair shop near my house, I walked home. Realizing that I was still exploring, even if it was somewhere I had been before, I walked down Curry Ford Road (State Road 552) and played Pokemon Go all along the way. Sometimes seeing what is right in your backyard makes this experience worth it.
Parks are not the only place worth playing Pokemon Go in. This shopping center at the corner of Curry Ford Road and Conway Road (State Road 15) like most others can be a literal gold mine in game.
The reasons for this are numerous. The most notable of them is the fact that in shopping centers there are many people. When more people are nearby playing Pokemon Go, the rarity of spawns slowly can increase. But if that alone does not have you sold, Pokestops and Pokemon Gyms use major areas of interest for locations. And what better place to have multiple areas of interest than a line of stores?
I was not in a park on this journey, but there was still plenty to see. Activity areas, schools, and neighborhoods appear frequently on both sides of Curry Ford Road. Each one of them a unique place filled with a diverse group of people.
Crossing the Road:
I opted to cross Curry Ford Road right here and see what a change in perspective would do. At least that is the reason I would like to give. The true purpose for this change was because of a certain Pokemon Gym that I was approaching.
Today was just one of those days that it felt great to simply be outside. Curry Ford Road is a place I walk and drive around frequently, but for some reason this was a liberating experience. Most impressive since right now my car is at the shop and I have incredibly limited funds to fix it.
I am unsure if I have ever mentioned this before, but I have an obsession with space utilization. This picture showcases an empty plot of land that is currently for sale. I do not know what will be built here, but am curious to see how it will look relative to what is next to it. I feel like Orlando is a city that wastes a lot of space and it bothers me greatly.
Pokemon Go:
This gym right here, located not far from my house is my first gold rank gym. I try to battle here at least once every day and it is common sight for this area to be Yellow (Go Team Instinct) as a result. The Pokestop right nearby tends to have useful spawns as well.
While playing Pokemon Go along Curry Ford Road is sub-optimal compared to going to a park, I was walking this route anyway. I decided to showcase that it is still worth the effort regardless of where you are.
Since I walked a fair amount of distance, I hatched two eggs. While neither is anything to write home about, every egg hatched puts me a step closer to getting one with a worthwhile Pokemon inside.
Let us hope my car is fixed tomorrow. That way I can go and explore a new park. If not, there are other areas within walking distance of my house worth checking out. Find out which one I end up doing in tomorrow’s post.
