Centrum Glacies 2022 Session 31: A New Mission
Week 31 in 2022 of this Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues with a new mission.
Like my other campaign, I’m turning this one into a book series. However I’m still working on that project. Give it some time.
Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing once the book series starts hitting virtual and real shelves.
!!!Trigger Warning!!!
This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture.
Most recently one of the party members had an eye gouged out and lost an arm. Not exactly the way it happens in Berserk, but that might have been the inspiration for it. The group at large is currently succumbing to magical wounds that appear to be turning them into Demons.
!!!Final Trigger Warning!!!
After a string of awkward silences and passive aggressive tension, the party talked over what had happened after the Cult of Obsidian Base. And they had much to discuss. But it wasn’t long until they all reverted back into their ways and focusing on how to advance their own agendas
Trent tried to get Tolith to join them once more. And once again she refused. Pointing out that only a fool would travel in the company of several high profile targets, the Druid returned to her shop.
Before anything else could happen, Yotel, the Orc innkeeper and apparently de facto leader of this part of the Orc encampment pulled them inside and commanded them to speak in the inn.
Once inside, she locked the doors and even summoned additional ones for added security. Clearly she was about to tell them something important. Remarking on the fact that the group had refused to kill all the young Acolytes, the Orc voiced her approval. And as a result, she gave them a mission in the Crystal Forest to the south.
The party didn’t know how often the Orcs actually asked Platinum Adventurers for assistance. But knew better than refuse. It didn’t seem like the craziest thing they had been asked to do either. They just needed to meet with someone in the woods. They would know who to talk to when they found the person of interest.
Unfortunately, the go south they would need to be blindfolded. Yotel also knew about Jyona’s secret transformation and the unique sight she now possessed. Promising to explain what was hidden in more detail when they returned, the party went on their way.
Hostile Technology:
Unfortunately trouble came knocking before they could leave towards the forest. The Party was attacked by automations before they could leave the Orc encampment. And once more they faced weapons never before seen. Including metal tubes that exploded on impact.
Jyona foolishly got close to the dangerous machines to try and learn more about them. The rest of the party attacked instead. But something was still amiss
Trent sensed something else moving about. Was someone controlling these machines? Well obviously someone activated them at least. Clear by the fact that so far Malcolm and Adrenne were being targeted by the machines.
Wrap Up:
With more and more twists, the party is starting to wise up that they know little about what is happening on the Abyssal Continent.
