Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Oceanfront Park
I know I said that I was going to explore the park near the last one I visited. But I was compelled to go watch the sun rise at Jacksonville Beach. While I was there, I saw Oceanfront Park one block away and decided to check it out.
Oceanfront Park is simple by design but has plenty to look at. The park has many murals and other pieces of art to look at on the outside. Meanwhile at the center sits a large statue. I’ll get back to that in a moment.
Unfortunately, the sky was cloudy. It was hard to fully appreciate the sunrise thanks to that. At least the weather was perfect though. And since it was early morning, the park wasn’t too crowded. I had plenty of chances to snap photos.
You can see an entrance to the beach in the above images. I had already traveled there prior to this adventure so I didn’t go back out there. I am considering doing a beach day for my blog at some point. Though given just how much beachfront exists nearby, I am unsure where to pick for such a day.
Here is the rest of Oceanfront Park. Notably you can see the statue in the middle which is in my opinion the most interesting piece of art in a park filled with it. I spent a lot more time here than it appears. The pictures are not time stamped so I can’t prove it. Just take my word for it.
Also, I spotted some art across the street. I don’t think its part of the park, but let’s pretend that it is. The picture quality was not too great so it might be hard to see what I saw properly.
Pokémon Go:
Here is Oceanfront Park in Pokémon Go. Though the area is small, there were plenty of spawns, two gyms, and four Pokestops. If this park alone was not reason enough to play Pokémon Go here, don’t forget that the beach is only a couple steps away. Beaches in general are fantastic places to play this game.

Trogdor the Deino can’t see the statue since he is blind. But he still had fun here. You will too if you want to visit the park and the nearby beach.
