Pokémon Gofest Chicago 2026: Day 4

Admin/ June 10, 2026/ Illinois, North Illinois, Pokémon Go, Travel, Video Games

I made it all the way to the 4th day of Chicago GoFest. I had already completed my park experience. And my feet were quite sore from exploring Chicago over several days. It might seem like I decided to stay in. And I could have. But no. I wanted my money’s worth and I had paid for the raid lovers boost. That meant I had 20 raids passes a day. And to use those, I returned to the city once more and if you have read the last few posts, you should be able to guess where I went.

I mentioned Mewtwo as the prize of the park experience. But it wasn’t the only prize. As an extra benefit of playing at GoFest and paying extra money to go to Grant Park, I got an additional Pokémon. That Pokémon, pictured above is Zeraora. Its not exactly the most remarkable Pokémon, at least not in Go, but this is the first time it has been obtainable. So it has that going for it.

I didn’t take any more pictures of Lincoln Park. I’ll save that for an actual blog post featuring that place. Instead I’ll let you all know that it was crowded on the final day. And I finally caught a shiny Rotom Wash. Never did find a Dhelmise though. I made new friends each day which was good since I only ran into my friends from Florida a couple times. In the end, I used my 20 raid passes and then even a few of the not free ones and then headed back towards the rest of the city.

Post Day 4

While still playing Pokémon Go, I explored a few more areas of Chicago I had not been to before. Notably the Merchandise Mart which I entered as a shortcut so I wouldn’t have to go around the loop the wrong way and have to hit every single station on the Brown Line before I reached the one I needed to get to. And guess what, that station was Clark and Lake, the one I mentioned I went to several times in the earlier blog post.

I also got some nice shots of the Chicago River and several buildings that showcase the artistic genius of Chicago. Other pictures include the L as seen from below and the Riverwalk that follows the already mentioned Chicago River. As I wandered the city I kept a mental note of all the places I want to explore the next time I visit. Which for reasons I’ll be disclosing in the near future, might be sooner than you think.

Final Train Ride

Well I took plenty more train pictures as I traveled back to the suburbs. And I feel like at this point, the point is overblown about how much I love trains. To the point where it could be argued that this series is more about my train rides than Pokémon Go itself. Well maybe that is true. Oh well, nothing to do about it now. Blame it on my phone that crashes Pokémon Go the moment IU try to take any pictures while the game is running.

Anyway, I had a blast at GoFest and that included Day 4. I’ll be back soon Chicago. And when I return to Orlando, I’ll miss how easy it is to get around this city without a car. Florida just can’t compare to it. Yes not a specific city. I’m calling the whole state out.

Don’t forget to check out Day 0, Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3. Lots of adventure to be had each day.
