Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Groveview Park
After a fun filled week at Kalos Tour, it was time to go explore some more. For this week, I visited Groveview Park, which had been a place I had found before, but it had been too crowded for me to go on an adventure there. This was not the case on my second visit.

Groveview Park features several areas for specific sports while also sporting a trail that lets people explore the entire thing from the outside. As the courts were crowded, especially towards the middle, this was the perfect way for me to check out the park without getting strangers in my photos.
With water fountains and benches dotting the path, this place is accessible to a lot of different people from walks of life. Its just a shame that the park is in such a difficult to find place. Specifically in the back of a neighborhood with only a couple signs telling people that something amazing is hidden back here. Still, enough people know about the place that there was a large crowd, specifically playing racquetball.
Speaking of racquetball, that seems to be the main draw of Groveview Park. Both inside and outdoor areas allow people to play the game. And plenty of people that I assume come frequently were making use of the facilities. Yet there is plenty of greenspace between these sections. And even when crowded, I imagine that this park has plenty of room for several groups all to do their own thing.
Beyond Racquetball

Racquetball was not the only thing to do at Groveview Park though. The second half of my adventure took me towards several other areas that included a playground with several sections for several different age ranges of kids. Lucky for me that it was not in use when I visited so I got to take plenty of pictures of this entire section.
There are also several pavilions for groups to gather for whatever reasons that groups gather. And as parks are becoming one of the last places where people are just allowed to exist these pavilions need to remain at not just this park, but basically any green space that exist. Humans need more places just to exist without the expectation of spending money.
Beyond the above, there was also a space to do several different workouts using several different muscle groups. Usually when I find these in parks, they tend to be more spread out. Having them all in one place was an interesting choice. And speaking of interesting choices, the basketball court remained empty the entire time I was there. This might be one of the first times I have witnessed something like that. Oh and I somehow managed to find the signs explaining the rules of the park at the end. Cool stuff.
Pokémon Go

So I have talked plenty at this point about Groveview Park and I liked what I saw. But its time to change what I’m looking at and talk about how the park measures up in Pokémon Go. And as you can see, its not half bad. There are several Pokestops and plenty of spawns. Only one Gym isn’t great if you want to do a raid hour, but not a terrible selection of features.
There were plenty of spawns around the park, especially closer to the racquetball areas. It was a shame that the more empty parts of the park did not have more spawns or I might have stayed longer. All in all though, if you are near this area and are looking for a quiet place to play Pokémon Go, this park is worth a visit. But for a more bustling experience, I would reccomend the nearby Lake Mary Central Park.

Would you look at that. I actually managed to smile in this photo. Well sort of. I’m not much of a smiler I’ll be honest. It feels forced, even when I feel happy. And I had fun of course going on this walk. Even though I didn’t hatch any eggs, I still got plenty of exercise. Here is hoping I’ll find another remarkable place to go on an adventure next week.
