Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Eagle Loop Trail

Admin/ January 3, 2026/ Central Florida, Florida, Pokémon Go, Travel, Video Games

After taking a week to myself, I went back out and explored Eagle Loop Trail. Its located behind the park I explored before my Miami adventure. The trail is located in the back and even more notably, a Frisby Golf Course dominates the landscape. This was my first time properly exploring such a course for this blog and so I decided to follow those markers and get a proper tour of the course.

The First Several Holes

As I said earlier, this trail is really more of a Frisby Gold Course than an actual trail. Yet Eagle Loop Trail has a lot of stuff to look at regardless of its designation. And the first half of the course did a good job being diverse in what I would have needed to get past if I was actually playing the sport.

There were areas of mostly open field with trees dotted here and there serving as obstacles. And further back, the trees became more thick making potential throws more difficult. Some of the images are out of proper order and that is because I didn’t at times explore the course in an optimal way. That is on me and not the course design itself.

Since it had been a while since I had done a proper hike, I was a little anxious too. It had been a rough couple of weeks and normally taking a hike is a form of therapy. So I was caught between taking this adventure slow and exploring at my usual pace. To slow myself down, I would let my eyes wander and go check out what caught my eye even if it was a spot I would return to later due to the Frisby Golf Course.

The Back Half

The second portion of the Frisby Golf Course around Eagle Loop Trail was even more varied with obstacles than before. And as the trail and course wound itself back to where I started, I got a second look at some of the spots I had explored in the first part of this adventure as well as the prior park. I try my best to avoid taking pictures of the same region in multiple blog posts unless there is a specific event drawing me there, but sometimes its inevitable.

However, I also want to draw attention to another reason that I broke things up into three sections instead of two. You can see the bridge in the above pictures. And if you look closely you might notice some structural damage as well. There had been bridge closed signs blocking the bridge in the not so distant past as they were still there yet knocked over. But I feared that they had fallen over due to weather and not because they had been moved. I almost turned around and headed home frustrated. But changed my mind halfway into that plan.

Beyond the Bridge

As for the true final section of Eagle Loop Trail and the Frisby Golf Course, once I got my bearings back and dared try the bridge, I felt really good about this adventure. As I finished up, I saw some people drive up and actually make use of the course. It made me happy to see others know about this place. Its a bit off the beaten path in Lake Mary, Florida. And finding places like this is how this blog started.

I’m sure this won’t be the last place with Frisbee Golf I explore in Florida. Its an activity I actually like and used to play frequently. My high school had a course and I have explored that in an much older post. The point I’m getting at is I’ll look for more places like this park.

Pokémon Go

I have talked at length about Eagle Loop Trail in the real world. So how does it measure up in Pokémon Go? Including relative to the other half of the park, which I already mentioned in that post was a good spot. Well, as you can see in the above image, I would argue that the back half is better. More stops and spawns than before. And the distance between everything is smaller too. The constant Rhyhorn spawns didn’t hurt either. Though that’s a nest and I’m sure it will change to something else soon.

I did hatch a Sandile during my adventure, but I forgot to screenshot it when it hatched. And transferred it almost immediately. I’m sorry for that, but compared to the park itself, its a minor thing.

Here I am, not staring at the sun and with a smile on my face. It felt good to get outside again. And I really needed this after Christmas and New Years. The weather is nice out during the day and that means there are plenty of weeks for an adventure before the Florida summer returns with a vengeance.
