Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Brightline Edition
I got the chance to attend my first ever Pokemon Go Safari Zone. And to get there, I chose to take the Brightline Train. It was my first time taking it, and I even got to explore a little of the towns along the way from the window.

Brightline features comfortable seats, plenty of space, and even fold down tables that were large enough for my laptop to rest on with some space to spare. I didn’t have an issue with leg room either. Honestly I’ll be considering taking the train down to Miami again in the future. A three hour ride doesn’t bother me when I can look at the window, write, and play video games along the way.
I am sorry that I didn’t get more photos out the window. Since I was doing some work on the way down there, I missed some scenic views. I tried my best to get a few city squares as the train rushed by, and I got a few shots of the swamps between Orlando and Cape Canaveral. One of those pictures is from Melbourne. Though I discovered while trying to get pictures that the train travels closer to industrial parks and away from the more photogenic spots of citys.
Once it turned night, I found it more difficult to get proper photos. I did manage to get a picture of one of the other Brightline Platforms, as well as an airport. But as you can see from those images, the glare from inside the car sort of ruined the photos. Funny enough you can see my laptop screen and proof of my writing another blog post if you look carefully.
In Miami

Once I was off Brightline and in Miami, I took a couple photos while traveling to my hotel room. Unfortunately, I was carrying several bags and a couple pillows which made it difficult to get many pictures. So I picked and chose the important ones. The first of those was a picture of the local free people move train crossing under the Brightline and Tri Rail Tracks.
The second photo was taken for a nostalgic reason. Although I couldn’t find a sign to prove it, map wise I got to confirm something important. That picture of the intersection there is the southern end of US Route 41. In all the places I have lived, I have never been more than fifty miles from either that road or its spur route US Route 441. Bucket list item done. Now I just need to drive the whole route and get pictures of the northern end to complete the rest of that list.
As for the last photo, I wanted to give a shout-out to pretty nice bar I visited on my first night in Miami. Located in Brickell, this locale is a cigar shop, liquor store, and full bar with plenty of selections. The staff was friendly and after I felt like a bum walking around Miami with some pillows, worried that a restaurant wouldn’t let me go inside as a result, they gave me no issue and even helped me increase my drink pallette. Here is a link to their website. If you are in the Brickell part of Miami, you should give them a look.
Wrap Up
Getting to Miami and exploring the city a little was fun, but the main event and reason I was there will be shown and told in the next few blog posts. Some exciting stuff to be sure so look forward to those posts very soon.
