Surviving the Felon: Week of 12/13/2025

I’m back with another instalment of Surviving the Felon. Only a few weeks remain of December and 2025 in general. Its been a tough year for a lot of us and considering how things have escalated so far, things might be even more difficult for us all next year. But that is for the future versions of ourselves to work through. For now we need to focus on the present.

In the United States and around the entire world, things seem to always be more bleak than the week before. But the mainstream media wants to convince us that things are getting worse. Things look terrible, but they are not at the point where we cannot fix things. We can solve these problems. Even when anti social people who think selfishness is a virtue stand in our way.

Soon we will reach the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. And we must remember that not only does the southern half of the planet have a lot of light gathering for longer moments, but that we will get more light up in the cold north soon. We must not accept that darkness will engulf all of us. We must fight back even in little ways like smiling and laughing with our friends and family. Every moment of joy you feel is another moment you are defying those who would see you surrender to fear and darkness.

The Bad

While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage FoundationPeter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.

An ordered list seems to be the best way to get through this section and so I’ll continue doing so. Negativity is the news’s specialty. And I want to focus on resisting and the positivity. But those bad things cannot be ignored. Giving it the least thought and fewest words is a proper compromise.

Everything ICE is doing in a city near you, Healthcare Costs going way up, Food Stamps running out, Genocide in Sudan, Conflict in the Middle East, The Felon investigating political enemies, The realization that our world is run by pedophiles, Rising Antisemitism, threats of violence against politicians who don’t obey The Felon, Rising threats of war in Venezuela, the Military being forced to obey illegal orders, Rising Tensions between Japan and China

The Good

Well we are past the bad of the blog post now. It looks just like the one from last week. And while this doesn’t paint a good picture, mostly this is because the topics listed above are all ongoing issues. There are likely to be new horrible actions added to the last over the coming months, but by that same token, perhaps some of the items listed above may fade into obscurity.

Video Games and cultural interactions are starting to take the edge off the problems between China and Japan. While the governments of these countries hate one another, and the history between them had been brutal and violent. Those atrocities were committed by people unable to do so again. And the future looks better for the average person from both nations. Anime are being well received between both these nations and exchange of ideas is breaking down some powerful divides.

People are coming together and breaking down barriers that have divided us sometimes for centuries or longer as the world becomes more globalized. I do not fear that cultures will fade. In fact I am hopeful that interaction between groups can make us all better.

Transition

This week was not one focused on politics. In fact my mind moved far away to other topics beyond it. And freeing my mind from those tendrils was a remarkable change for my mental health. It also helped me break out of a funk that was preventing me from being better at writing. Now that I am smiling more, at least for this week, I want to see what I can accomplish.

This blog has been a check in for my friends as well as one for myself. Community building starts by being in tune with yourself. A healthier you means you can help others be healthy too. To that end, I am proud of my accomplishments this year. And no matter what my depression and anxiety try to make me believe, I will fight the battle against those dark spots of my brain too. And for the first time in years, I feel like I can win this clash. Quite a big deal considering everything going on in the world.

While I am past Thanksgiving now, Christmas and New Years are on the horizon. And those days have always been tough for me. In fact Christmas Eve has been such a negative day in my life in the past that I do a Suicide Awareness Stream on that day every single year. This one will be no different. But let’s move away from politics and focus on what I accomplished this month for a moment.

Workouts

This was another unusual week with tons of extra events in my life to distract me. Monday and Wednesday were normal when it came to doing my core workouts. Friday was another matter, but I made up for that lapse in what I missed by what I did this weekend instead. I’ll get to that in a moment. For now, just know that this wasn’t a normal week by any stretch of the imagination for me.

Video Games

I was not at my house for a lot of time this week. And that meant that some of the usual suspects in video gaming were not among what I chose to play. This week in fact had me write this blog post t night rather than in the morning like I prefer. While I write this post, my video game of choice is Fire Emblem Blazing Blade. And may I mention that this is another game in the ever longer list of those that let me do work while I game.

I also played Genshin ImpactBaldur’s Gate 3, and Pokemon Legends Z-A. Though most of the time spent on gaming was spent on Genshin or Fire Emblem this week. The others got a few hours at most and one at least. Instead, Metroid Prime 4 was the focus. But really there is a game that I focused a whole lot on this weekend. And as usual that game gets its own section.

Pokémon Go

That game of course was Pokémon Go. For the weekend, I traveled to Miami, Florida for the Safari Zone Event. I will be writing dedicated posts throughout this next week to give my thoughts on the event as well as what traveling between the cities of Orlando and Miami was like on Brightline. For now though, just now that this was an incredible and much needed vacation.

The new PvP season has been pretty chaotic so far. But at the same time, I’m not too worried about my losses or even my wins this time. As an interlude season, the rankings are not as important as simply playing the game. Perhaps this week I’ll listen to my own advice and play games calm. I can always dream.

But the main event as I mentioned above was the Safari Zone. It will take several blog posts to fully encompass everything that I saw and did. And I can’t wait to share that all with you. Look forward to several posts and soon.

Anime and Shows

I didn’t get a chance to watch any of the shows that are airing this week. I was much more focused on everything else I was up to this week. Nothing wrong with that. But don’t worry, I’ll be back to watching by next week.

What I did watch was some One Piece episodes as well as a single one of Lord of Mysteries. These two shows feel very different. One Piece takes its time telling a story to the point where it feels like little happens from episode to episode. Meanwhile Lord of Mysteries is the opposite where it almost feels like the show rushes through everything. I think both stories would benefit from heading towards the average as far as pacing.

Dungeons & Dragons

This week featured a story heavy session of my Centrum Glacies Campaign which can be read here. A lot of it was setup for future arcs but the fact that so many character stories are soon to converge is exciting to me. The party is nearing the end of an entire arc of the story and as I look back, its been more than 2 years in real life that they have been going through this section of the story.

With all the work I have put in, it is always my fear that all this buildup will fall flat on its face. But they seem to like everything I have done so far. My only option is to charge ahead and confidently deliver the ending of one of the most important parts of the entire campaign thus far.

Writing and Editing

While I was still in town, I spent most of my time editing my Earth Everafter Novel. I also read a section from it at an open mic that I have attended a majority of the time since I first discovered it an incredible number of years back. Now that I am making videos of these readings, I need to post them on the website. But it makes sense to me to have several of them before I do so. Also, as the quality of the videos are a little lower than I normally would want, there is the option to improve that aspect of them before committing to a whole new section of the website.

Reading

As a lot of my focus was on the weekend, it was a bit difficult for me to sit down and read this week. But when I did find quiet moments where I was able to focus, I caught up in the Mazino Webtoon. In addition, I made a little more progress in reading Branding Yourself. There is a lot of information in that novel and I’m taking it slow to make sure I don’t miss anything important. I’m certain that since blogging has been mentioned several times towards the beginning, that there is a lot I can do with these posts to stick out in a positive way.

Wrap Up

As the holidays approach, its a stressful time for lots of people. Presents are more expensive than ever. In fact just about everything costs more right now. And as we tighten up our budgets, those who are destroying our world recklessly loot and pillage our resources using the money they stole from the rest of us. More than ever we need to remain strong.

And in addition, perhaps its time for us to think not of gifts as far as monetary value, but as far as sentimental value. There are a lot of things that money can’t define. And many of such items can be made by hand or digitally. More than ever, art matters in any form. Perhaps this year we can shove capitalism aside, if not for a little while and create gifts to show how much we care about one another.

Years ago, I used to write short stories for my family members as gifts for their birthdays. I even did one such story as a wedding gift. Nonconventional gifts come from the heart and in my opinion are much more valuable than simply spending money at the store. Perhaps I should do that again. It really would be a way to show I care for friends and family.

Anyway, you know who doesn’t understand art and sentimental stuff at all? The Felon. Let’s outlast him this holiday season. As humans let’s show love and light to those we care about. Those things are what make us better people. In fact its what makes us human. Our heartbeats are greater than anything he stands for. While he destroys, we rebuild. Our hearts craft beauty and wonder despite his parasitic presence. And we will only become stronger once he is no longer in our way. We will Survive The Felon together and unstoppable.
