Surviving the Felon: Week of 6/28/2025

I’m back with another instalment of Surviving the Felon. Its almost July and temperatures continue to ramp up. For a change, The Felon isn’t the only thing causing us harm in the United States. A horrible heat dome is trapping record breaking heat on the east half of the country, while in turn bring colder than normal temperatures to the western half.

Over the last six months, we have been so exhausted simply dealing with The Felon that it has been harder to care about all the environmental issues that will changing our ways of life long after he is dead and forgotten. Yet we can’t all think doom and gloom lest The Felon and his cronies dominate our hearts and souls currently. The name of the game as always is outlast.

Still, the country is fighting back against him. And although plenty of other places around the world are letting Fascism and hate take control, there are places holding out and fighting against it too. We must all focus on these small victories and seize hope as power. It is not enough for us to simply keep idling by in our daily lives and hope this blows over. We all need to find the small things that make us smile, laugh, and love one another to give us the energy to be good to one another.

The Bad

While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage FoundationPeter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.

I want to start this section with an issue that impacted me personally this week. The student loan crisis is becoming worse for a lot of people. Lot’s of people are hiding their suffering on this one, but this blog post is about how I am dealing with the Felon and so I have no reason to hide my grievances or struggles. My credit score dropped 200 points this week and forced me to start making payments. Although I was not marked delinquent, my life is about to get more expensive in general. Certainly its no surprise that the Felon would attack the educated. We are the ones who hate him after all.

The environment is none too pleased with us meddling with it. The weather is turning more extreme this year with record breaking heat waves all over the United States. I’m not sure what the weather is like on either side of the big salty ponds but I imagine that abnormal weather will become the new normal everywhere. Food shortages will become more common and Humans as we tend to when resources grow smaller will fight over them. Violently most likely.

And speaking of food, as more immigrants are deported in the United States by the Gestapo, the labor they were performing is halting. As groceries rot before they make it to a store, prices will increase which in turn will drive inflation further. The perfect storm to cause more mayhem and inflation. Probably in reverse order. I would like to remind the economists reading this blog that supply and demand only works when people are willing and able to pay prices on goods. The alternative is theft and we are already seeing plenty of that.

The Good

Well it sounded like a whole lot of bad up there. But we can’t give in despair now can we. As usual I’m pushing the negative aside for the rest of this post. Let’s look at the positives instead. For one, though I have mixed feelings on the nominee for New York Mayor personally, the fact that big money was defeated by a candidate was much less so is a cause for joy. And the fact that the news is scrambling to try and smear him only confirms that if only the candidates that I want to support would drop their antisemitism, I have no issue supporting them otherwise.

Meanwhile, The Felon’s horrible bill while likely to pass will have segments that would have made things worse for everyone cut out. At this point, his own party is starting to fight back against him. While the ways they are standing their ground are tiny, likely because they fear his psychotic cult killing them in their homes, the first step to stopping Fascism completely is infighting. Something we need to encourage more between his supporters.

Another good related to the bad above is that many of the companies holding student loans, including my own are being targeted by class action lawsuits. If anything changes over the next couple years due to this legal actions it will bring a smile to my face. And while I’ll be paying my loans down in the meantime, it would be gleeful if it turns out the loans vanish because of a legal technicality.

Transition

There you have it. Did you enjoy the news above? Probably not since the news is not meant to be enjoyable. Clicks and money are generated far more from death and misery after all. Good news is no news and all that. Hence why I spend more of my time away from it.

Depression is trying its best to drag me down. And this heat wave is making it hard to go for walks. As one of the most therapeutic things I do for a large part of the summer a key pillar of my support system has been turned off. Still I won’t let that negative energy win. Certainly not when I have so much to look forward to this upcoming week. For now though, I’m gonna shift over to my personal life and talk about what made me smile and laugh this week.

Video Games

Well let’s start with my daily life talking about video games. Its not like I can go outside as much on account of threat of heat exhaustion and all that. This week I’m back to Elden Ring as my game played while writing this post. No matter how many times I play through this game, the Lands Between keep calling me back. There are just so many builds to try. Genshin Impact is of course another motivator game this week. Though the new endgame mode, tested my patience as I am not a big spender on the game. This mode is certainly for those people and not me.

I played some Helldivers 2 this week. Notably we are fighting Bots again after fighting Bugs and Illuminate for several story events back to back. I like fighting them more than the Bugs, but the Illuminate is my favorite faction to battle. Just a shame that most of my friends who I play with do not feel the same.

Also, I’m continuing my Honor Mode run of Baldur’s Gate 3. My friends and I have made it more than halfway through the Shadow Cursed Lands and one scary boss stand between us and Act 3. Not sure how we will do by the end and I worry that our victory might get cut short by final stretch, but we made it this far. And we all intend to see this through.

Pokémon Go

Normally I don’t go outside during the summer outside of raid hour while playing Pokémon Go. But this week, and the first day of the next blog post I’ll be risking heat exhaustion for pixels. Because Pokémon Go Fest is happening and there is only one other event like this one the entire year. The prizes are Zacien and Zamazenta in their sword and shield forms respectively. And both are top tier threats for PvP and PvE alike.

In addition, there were raid hours the entire week leading up to this event. So I was outside a lot more than normal. I have concluded though that avoiding hikes in the extreme Florida heat was the right move. I won’t be making a habit of going outside a lot besides work in the near future. Only constant water and plenty of other drinks to supplement them have kept me from getting sick.

Finally, I’ll be getting a Volcanion as a prize from participating in the event. With its unique typing, I’m hoping to make use of it in PvP in a select cup or five. But I’ll see how that goes once I have caught it.

Anime and Shows

It feels like a calm before the storm as I wait for the summer Anime season to start. Fire Force is done for now as are other shows that were airing for spring specifically. But unlike this last season, I’ll be watching a ton of shows starting next week. I’ll be listing them all next time because I’m not even sure which ones I’ll be committing to fully.

But that doesn’t mean I watched nothing. I used the lull to watch more One Piece. I’m at the end of The Marineford Arc and just made it past what I assume is one of the most emotional and impactful parts of the entire show. Once I finish this arc and the one after it, a time skip story wise is coming and that usually is heralded by a change in story direction. Given what just happened, I can understand why. But after seeing what I was told was one of the best arcs of One Piece, I’m fully committed and ready to see what happens to the Straw Hats next.

Dungeons & Dragons

In contrast to the last several sessions of my Centrum Glacies Campaign, this session was completely combat oriented. Sometimes the storytelling happens through violence. And as Aberrations continue to appear in a cave filled with radioactive waste, its becoming clearing to my players that this setting is not at all what it seems. If you want to read about their increasingly deadly adventures, take a look right here.

Writing and Editing

Intrusive thoughts distracted me this week as I did my best to edit Earth Everafter. But every single sentence fixed is another closer to having a superior product to publish. Instead of looking at the slower work as a failure, I think I need to think more about the fact that I’m making more progress writing wise these last few years than ever before.

Speaking of writing, I did get some work done on Search for Eden book five. I’m working on a somber and sad moment that is a send off to a character that has been around since I wrote the first many years ago. It is really something to see characters that are almost like real people fade away as the story dictates. For those of you who have read my very first published novel, many of those characters are either drastically different from how they were before, or dead.

Reading

I finished The Amber Spyglass this week and moved on to The Book of Dust a follow up series to the original. Two of the three books are out and it turns out I alerted a few people on social media to their existence. Would you look at that. Social Media being used for good. Who would of thought that was possible? I found a few other stories to read once I finish this book and the one after it. My reading journey has taken some interesting turns and I look forward to see what I discover next.

Wrap Up

Another week has gone by and it feels like an eternity at times. At least we are 1/8th through The Felon’s term as dictator. And my hope along with many others is that natural causes frees us from this nightmare. As the Domestic Terrorist in Chief continues to use his power to make our lives miserable as punishment for not seeing him as a God, we must stand firm. We must protect our communities and not let his goons kidnap innocent people.

We must fight for free elections and ensure that we can vote in politicians that can check his power. Government should fear its people. It is high time the people stop fearing our Government. And as the rich oligarchs such as The Stalker, The Nazi, and others of their ilk continue pushing their dreams of a technofascist state where they rule, we as a collective need to push towards their nightmare. I mean a world where we stand united against them. There is only one war: The Class War.

Every second we combat these lunatics is a second where we bring more light into the world. Every moment we stand firm against their wretched ideas is another where the world is a better place. We are valuable. Our lives have meaning. Unlike The Felon that is since his entire world revolves around power and money. Both of these are things that matter little once your life runs out. Each of us can feel confident that when we die our deaths will not be celebrated around the world. That makes us better people than The Felon. Remember that.

As our hearts beat as one and drown out Fascism, find happiness where you can. Smile at the little things that bring you joy. We can fight and Survive The Felon together, one breath at a time.

Here is a picture of a cat if you are feeling down. Cat is happy because he is a cat. Be like cat.
