Surviving the Felon: Week of 5/24/2025
I’m back with another installment of Surviving the Felon. May is coming to an end. Isn’t that wild? This whole year has felt like a long haze for me. Writing these week by week threads helps me keep sane at a time when big business is invested in making me lose my marbles. But try as they may to hold me and anyone reading this down in a despair pit, they are failing.
The Emperor’s New Clothes are slipping to the point where The Felon’s followers are slowly losing confidence in his leadership. The tricks that has kept his opposition divided thus far are just as effective at breaking his voting blocks into manageable chunks. And so we must keep fighting in the streets, on the internet and most importantly in our hearts.
For those hearts to remain strong and steadfast it is vital more now than ever before to embrace the love and light of our lives. As we slowly wrest back control of our lives from The Felon we must never lose sight of those little moments that make us smile. Those times are what makes us human while also serving as a reminder to these wicked psychopaths their own shortcomings. Our own happiness destroys their own.
The Bad
While the news tries to control what we are worried about, don’t forget to learn more about the Heritage Foundation, Peter Thiel, and Curtis Yarvin. These are our real enemies, alongside The Window Shover of course. I’m putting this at the start of The Bad Section because I feel like this is by far the most important thing to get out of the negative.
Anyway, let’s look at what I consider to me personally as one of the worst weeks in the bad section of this blog in a while. And I want to start with the shooting in Washington DC that killed two Israeli Diplomats. Every single person reading this blog post should know that regardless of how you feel about what’s going on in the Middle East, cheering on the murder diplomats does not protect any starving children. And it certainly doesn’t end any wars. But it does do an exceptionally job at keeping current ones going.
That wasn’t the only horrible thing this week of course. Just the one that hit me the hardest. But a wonderful budget bill is sneaking its way through our Congress. And like any law that is discussed and passed in the middle of the night, it has a whole lot to hide from anyone with common sense reading it. There are far too many things to list that make this bill absolutely abhorrent in any rational way.
And I won’t link to it in this blog because it will nullify the positive that will dominate the rest of this post. But you should be able to find it fairly quick. Take a guess how it might relate to the groups and people I mentioned in the first paragraph though. That is worth several clicks and ganders.
The Good
Well the bad was pretty horrible this time wasn’t it? I didn’t even put links to some of the most awful because I don’t want to do The Felon’s job of flooding the zone. And so let’s now focus on the good and how we can take in all the horrible things that keep happening every week and fight back.
Remember how I mentioned earlier that people are starting to notice that they are on the leopard menu? The ICE Gestapo has kidnapped tons of people already who actually voted for The Felon. And its taking a bit of energy to not stoop to their same level and be happy that these fools are being hurt. What I will say is that conservatives tend to do the right thing when their own lives are harmed. Well let us hope that their lives continue to be negatively impacted so that they will have no choice but to do the right thing now shall we?
On a much more positive note, it turns out all the peaceful protests against The Nazi are working. His ego is forcing a massive backpaddle. He might have robbed the United States with DOGE and blocked a ton of investigations that would have impacted his profits, but still he is being run out of The Felon’s White House. And I’m hoping that this is a sign of how to turn the techbros against each other next. And that is something that needs to happen soon for all of our sakes.
Oh and Illinois continues to amaze me. Chicago knows how to fight The Felon of course. The city has been doing so for a long long time. But after all the negativity painted towards my hometown and state, I’m proud that its a flag hoisting a resistance.
Transition
Well there was a little glimpse into the good and bad happening in the United States. I didn’t even have a chance to look much at what else is happening around the world. I’m no professional journalist after all. Such a shame that so much of the news’ integrity has been washed down the drain for the sake of greater profits. And well… that is a matter far beyond what I’m willing to write about on this blog.
Instead I want to pivot back towards my personal life. I can’t make grand changes to fix the problems of the world. But what I can do is add a little bit of light to the world. And if the things that are keeping me sane will help you stay sane too, then I have done the best that I can in spreading that idea.
Video Games
Once more I’ll talk about the video games I’m playing to stay smiling. Its Genshin Impact that I’m playing while writing this blog post again. Oblivion is a backup game to help me stay on task by giving me small tasks that fill its massive game world. And between tasks in both these massive open world games, I complete chores, and tasks such as writing.
I spent some more time on Helldivers 2. I can’t protect earth in real life, but I can protect a fictional Starship Troopers dystopian version in a fictional game. Things look bleak in the game as the aliens are crushing all the cities and giving us equally horrible defeats. But unlike real life, I am confident we can rally and save the day. Hmm, maybe power fantasy isn’t so bad after all.
I also spent some more time playing Tales of Symphonia this week. After seeing how religious extremism once more directly impacts my life, it has been calming to play the game that saved me from being trapped in those same dogmatic beliefs. Certainly feels better than screaming into the void.
Pokémon Go
The Florida sun is baking the state and making going on walks a bit hazardous. Hopefully spring will cool things down again before summer is in full swing. Otherwise it might be a while before I go on anymore hikes.
As for PvP, I reached where I wanted to for the season and am taking a break before the next season starts. Reaching Veteran in Pokémon Go was quite a bit of work and I would rather not spend a ton of energy trying in vain to reach an even higher rank.
Anime and Shows
This week I had an extra day off and made use of it by going on a little roadtrip. While with friends, I got to watch some shows I never would have otherwise. Specifically a few episodes of Black Mirror. Its been some time since I watched Black Mirror and given how much I’m left reflecting on our toxic relationship with technology, its a habit I should continue.
This week, I did watch Fire Force before I did this write up. In fact, the episode seemed to come out early giving me a chance to watch it long before the end of the week. And with some serious revelations, I’m looking forward to where this show ends by the time the season wraps.
As for One Piece, I’m more than halfway through the Sabaody Archipelago Arc. Funny enough, watching these episodes with a friend is ultimately what convinced me to take the plunge and watch One Piece. So now that I have context for what happened leading up to a punch heard around the world.
Dungeons & Dragons
My Centrum Glacies Campaign is reaching an incredible climax for the current subplot. I ran two separate sessions but due to being on vacation for a large part of the week, I have only completed the writeup for the first half. I’ll be sure to link the second and much more intense part of the story for next week.
Writing and Editing
This week I spent some time editing Earth Everafter and squeezed a little writing in too. Specifically towards writing the fifth Search For Eden novel first draft. Progress is slow on both fronts because I am fighting back burnout after writing constantly for a month and a half starting last April. But I’ll be returning to consistent work and even word counts in the coming weeks.
Reading
This week I finished The Golden Compass and started The Subtle Knife which is the second book in His Dark Materials. As I read through the second book in the series, its becoming increasingly clear why several religious organizations have banned these books through the years. Can’t have those same institutions challenged on the disproportionate control they have over the world now can we?
But that wasn’t the only thing I read this week. Between these two stories, I went back on Webtoon and read a story written by a fellow writer and friend. And it was short enough that I read it in a single afternoon. Titled A Dragon’s Tale, it has the right amount of romance and action for my liking. The if evil why hot villain also helps.
I’ll be reading more local books and webtoons when I can. Gotta do my part to support friends and family that create. It is what they find joy in. And as a light that they bring to the world, I find that in these dark times, I should be sharing their smiles along my own.
Wrap Up
As The Felon continues to play with our lives for his selfish aims, it grows more important than ever for us all to find light and love. His world is the inverse and is filled with hatred and darkness. But as that hatred feeds on itself, the power structures are crumbling. Already The Nazi is being pushed out of the big club. I hope this in fighting will continue.
The alternative is too cruel for me to think about. For Human history has been written in blood and the most brutal tyrants have won through mass violence. I’m hoping and it feels almost silly to me to admit, that humanity can do better. And the first step to that better world is realizing what we have collectively done wrong.
Despite the culture wars being pushed all over the world, the majority of people have a lot more in common than differences. It is no coincidence then that the arts are demonized by the same people pushing for these divides. And we should all know by now that when our leaders tell us to do something, its imperative that we do the opposite.
And so we need to keep creating, loving one another, and finding passions and joy in our lives. That way our hearts can keep beating as one. And The Felon can be defeated. We will outlast he and his domestic terrorist allies. We will Survive the Felon and be left stronger than before.
Here is a picture of a cat to make you smile.
