Exploring the World with Pokemon Go: Block 37 Mall
I might have been to Chicago mostly for Pokemon GoFest, but I had a few more days in the city afterwards. And while wandering around Chicago, I found a place I remembered from earlier visits, but hadn’t remembered the name. Upon discovering it was called Block 37 Mall, I decided it was worth exploring in full.

I first stumbled upon Block 37 Mall while traveling between the Red Line and Blue Line subway stations. And that is how I found it this time too. The basement connects the two stations which is what first stuck out to me. Its also a great marketing strategy to bring in some customers who otherwise would never visit this place.
Its no coincidence that almost all the food in the mall is in that same basement. What better way to get travelers to stop for a moment? But I didn’t want to just see the basement. What use would an exploring post be if I didn’t explore the entire thing? Up on the second floor I found clothing stores and another restaurant. This one a sit down place. It makes sense that the fast food is placed in the path of those rushing while rewarding a slower paced environment for those willing to go upstairs.
Pokemon Go

I wanted to show Block 37 in Pokemon Go, but due to how the image was cropped, it doesn’t seem to be appearing properly. I don’t know why the top half of the image is the only part that appeared, but I’m going to get to the bottom of it and fix it when I can. The image as shown doesn’t tell anything about the mall. So I’ll have to tell you instead.
Block 37 sits on a heavily trafficked corner. And there are Pokestops and Gyms all over Chicago. This location was no different. There were several Dynamax Raids to battle in as well. There isn’t really any place that is bad in the city and malls like this one feature great places to take a break from being outside if its too hot or cold and still catch Pokemon and spin stops. As a bonus, you can get here from the trains without going outside.

Here I am, exhausted after four days of GoFest. But not tired enough to miss a chance to create even more content and explore a mall that I kept putting off checking out till later. I’ll have some more surprises for you all soon, so keep watching for more posts. Not only from Florida but from Illinois too.
