Centrum Glacies Session 136: The Almighty Allip

Admin/ April 3, 2026/ Books, Centrum Glacies, Dungeons and Dragons

Week 136 of the Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues as the party encounters and an even worse monster. Drawn together by countless souls gone mad, the group dubbed this creature: The Almighty Allip.

Like my other campaign, I’m turning this one into a book seriesYou can check out the first one here.

Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing in the book series.

!!!Trigger Warning!!!

This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture, psychological warfare, child abuse, and slavery.

Most recently, the party helped cause a complete planetary genocide. Save a few survivors, no one remains from that world. They are still grappling with this unfathomable loss of life and their role in making it happen. It is clear that their suffering is far from over. They can only hope they don’t cause untold pain to an even more untold more.

!!!Final Trigger Warning!!!

While exploring a narrow corridor, more Allips attacked the party through the walls. Though mostly ineffective, the threat of going mad was ever present as more and more of the Undead appeared. The group did their best to rush out of the narrow hall and find a larger room to engage the creatures.

Eventually they found such a room. But Teztcal and Kisara, who brought up the rear were rendered blind because they couldn’t see in the dark. Jyona was forced to stay near them to ensure their safety.

As the group continued deeper into he crypt, they found even more Allips. And they remembered the friendly Mimic’s warning. There was something much worse in this place. Most likely whatever was maintaining the barrier over Olanna’s Lair.

With the defeat of the last of the Allips, the group took a moment to rest. There wasn’t much more of this crypt to explore based on what they had seen so far. And they had a greater sense of foreboding as they cleared one final hallway.

The Almighty Allip

Finally, they found a room that had no other branching paths. And Obrom’s brand burned so bright that the others had no need for light. As soon as the group was all inside, a ghostly flame blocked the only exit out and a mass of maddened souls, some containing the voices of children, formed out of the darkness.

Jyona called it an Almighty Allip to give a name to this enemy. Though it wasn’t clear if the creatures were even related. Its appearance heralded dark magic filling the room though. The party felt the cold chill of death as their skin started to rot away simply by being near this monster. And it was clear that all healing was blocked.

Seeing the clear danger, Trent called upon his own dark powers and transformed into his Demon form. Teztcal and Kisara in turn assumed their Dragon forms. Everyone was growing their game face. And it was needed as not only was healing blocked, but the dark necrotic magic was putting this fight on a timer.

The group needed speed and so several of them cast Haste until basically everyone was boosted. It pushed their potential for violence to incredible heights. Needed as the creature in a single strike almost knocked Kisara out.

In a single round, the party did enough damage to cause some of the ghosts to break free of the Almighty Allip. These friendly spirits offered to heal the party. And they broke the necrotic aura that had prevented such prior.

Unfortunately, the remaining spirits encompassing the Almighty Allip changed as well. Before the ghosts making up its body had warn a sad and hopeless string of faces, but those frowns shifted into an unnerving series of smiles. And its tactics changed too.

Every time a party member attacked the Almighty Allip, half that damage was reflected back in their face. Their high damage potential was turned against them. And the group found themselves in danger once more.

Worse, the Almighty Allip was able to put up a shield to block some of the damage. This didn’t have an effect on the magical reflective property either. It simply made the fight even more dangerous. As did the fact that it periodically could blast the mind of a party member dazing them for an entire round. Obrom was unable to act as the fight went on, being the first victim of this attack.

Wrap Up

The group continues to fight the Almighty Allip. And while Olanna has not made an appearance, this is clearly her work. When they fight against her, what will she bring to bear against the party?
