Centrum Glacies Session 55: Return to the Enclave
Week 55 Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues as the group returns to the Druid Enclave.

Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing in the book series.

This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture.
Most recently one of the party members had an eye gouged out and lost an arm. Not exactly the way it happens in Berserk, but that might have been the inspiration for it. The group recently was incinerated in lava. But rather than die, they have been transformed into Demons. And every moment they have to resist a bloodlust that is trying to take hold.

The party with a revived Jyona returned to the Circle of Cleansing Enclave and were attacked moments later. The group was a bit worried that they had not been pursued. And more problematically, the tree roots that had continuously tried to pin them down were not present.
Armed with the staff enchanted by Zinbella, Jyona had her game face. These Druids had already killed her once. And she had no intention of putting Trent through pain again. Especially since he had made a deal with Engelique that was bad for them all to bring her back.
Jyona was tranquil on the outside, but inside she was furious. She was still processing everything that had happened recently, as well as all the events that had led up to them. And so she was a bit more willing to be malicious than normal.
To that end She dominated a Druid with her Demonic powers and made them summon a fire elemental. Naturally a fire elemental inside a massive tree was dangerous to its survival. And Jyona commanded the Druid in turn to force the elemental to attack the foundation of the Enclave and any Druids it found along the way.
Against the Druids
All the while, the Druids of Cleansing tried to kill Jyona, especially with her causing to spread fire through the Enclave. But to no avail. She held a staff that protected her from all Druid Magic. And Jyona had known this to be true from Zinbella’s words even if she was one of the less trustworthy “allies” the party had.
Their attacks continued to fail, even as the Druids transformed into fearsome elementals, and they caught on only too late. As the Druid controlling the Fire Elemental died, the monster broke free and charged deeper into the Enclave. Yells ahead indicated that the Elemental had found new friends and had no intention of keeping them alive.
One of the Druids realized that the staff Jyona holds was what was protecting her from their spells. And they tried to remove it from her person. With no success of course. She refused to part with it. Not against these enemies.
More Enemies
Those new friends the Fire Elemental made defeated it. As they came running towards the party and the monster was nowhere to be seen or heard. Unfortunately, Teztcal was closest to them. And thus they focused their attacks on him.
Unfortunately, the other Druids that had engaged the group before were still alive and now they swarmed the party. It was a dangerous situation to be in, especially since Teztcal was flailing about and unable to hit anything.
But even while flailing about, and even with a massive delusion problem, Teztcal was quite powerful in this form. And even though he was surrounded by enemies, eventually his strikes hit. And he started decimating Druids of Cleansing all on his own.
After several failed attempts, one of the Druids successfully snatched Jyona’s staff. but Zinbella had placed some sort of protection in case this happened. The Cleansing Druid was hit with a magical backlash that disoriented and weakened them. And this allowed Jyona to reclaim the weapon and the protection it afforded.
Wrap Up
Druids in the Circle of Cleansing are formidable foes, and their leader is still in the Enclave watching. Why are the tree roots not attacking the party? And what will happen once they reach him?
