Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Centennial Park
I explored Centennial Park, one of several local Sanford green spaces. It surprised me how many of these little corners of the world exist near my house.
Centennial Park is located right in the middle of one of the historic districts of downtown Sanford. There is a lot of greenway set aside for leisure time. I got to see how some people use the space since I visited on Sunday. Normally I work on weekends and would have missed what happens here.
Situated between homes and several churches, Centennial Park is the perfect meeting place after religious services. At least that is what I assume. Not really the churchgoing type. But Florida is a place that is warm most of the year. Situating more greenspaces near houses should be the standard not as unusual as I’m finding it.
I spent some time at the center shelter in the middle of the park. I liked the hanging lights so took a picture from that angle. Maybe I should come back at night and see what this park looks like illuminated by all them. Maybe it looks spooky in October. Funny if true since there are religious places all around the park.
Pokémon Go:
Centennial Park is located near downtown Sanford. This translates to an incredible Pokémon Go experience due to the close proximity of several stops in easy to reach places. The park itself should be one of several stops while exploring Sanford. There are plenty more green spots just like it nearby. Though the angle I chose in game doesn’t show this well. I guess that is something I need to reconsider moving forward.
As for just this park, there are five stops in range although I found it amusing that almost all of those stops denote landmarks unrelated to the park. Oh well. Why not check out several scenic spots while visiting several parks? If that question appeals to you, you should give Centennial Park a visit both inside and outside Pokémon Go.
I hatched a Tyrogue. Now lets move on to something that actually matters.
Noibat is well… a bat. I figured up there near the celling was a place it would call home. I imagine the shiny baby dragon liked it up there.
I need a shave and to get out more. Took a bit of energy to make that smile since I have been in a bit a funk. Few things bring smiles to my face quite like a peaceful walk. I should remember that. Especially when looking at the bike path in view from my bedroom window.
