Centrum Glacies 2022 Session 41: Jyona Conflicted
Week 41 in 2022 of this Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues with Jyona conflicted. She has gone out of her way to avoid killing people. But she might have no choice moving forward.
Like my other campaign, I’m turning this one into a book series. However I’m still working on that project. Give it some time.
Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing once the book series starts hitting virtual and real shelves.
!!!Trigger Warning!!!
This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture.
Most recently one of the party members had an eye gouged out and lost an arm. Not exactly the way it happens in Berserk, but that might have been the inspiration for it. The group at large is currently succumbing to magical wounds that appear to be turning them into Demons.
!!!Final Trigger Warning!!!
Jarrar was almost in the parties grasp. And they intended to make him pay for the several grave injustices he had inflected on them. But to make sure they could deal with him properly, the group cleared out the base he was in to make sure there wouldn’t be interruptions.
Naturally there were more than Cultists in this base. The heat increased and even Trent’s enchanted armor didn’t block the flames. He was face to face with another of those Demon Fire Elementals. His dagger warned him of the danger, but the smoke and ash prevented him from noticing until the creature was right on top of them.
Acting quickly though, he transformed into a water elemental to remove it. And though this method worked, it knocked him out of that shifted form. One less resource to use against Jarrar which might have been the Dark Elf’s plan.
But there was even more trouble to add to an already conflicted Jyona’s psyche. Adrenne was a Vampire. Vampires needed to feed. She seemed excited to attack Dark Elves. Did she have some sort of veiled racism? The others didn’t stop her. They wanted to take on Jarrar and these Cultists were in the way.
As the party cleared more and more of the base, Jyona’s conflicted brain raced even faster. It wouldn’t be long till she was forced to kill a Human or Elf. It was one thing to slay monsters. Demons and Vampires were fine too. But many of these Dark Elves would have been innocent people if not for the circumstances that forced them to join the Cult of Obsidian.
Wrap Up:
Will Jyona cross that line. Does she join her companions as a killer? With Jarrar so close, she might have no choice.
