Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Riverfront Park

Admin/ May 1, 2021/ Florida, North Florida, Travel

Here is my next adventure in San Marco Florida. This time I traveled to Riverfront Park. According to Google Maps, its barely in San Marco.

Normally I don’t talk politics on my travel blog, but I feel the need to this time. When I first walked into Riverfront Park, I saw a certain flag representing a certain individual one. I can’t even fathom how anyone in this country could still support that lunatic. Especially a person living by the Saint Johns River. Like, if climate change is real, your house is gonna be underwater good person. You might want to rethink things.

Anyway, moving on past that, Riverfront Park was partially under construction when I arrived. Not quite sure what they are constructing though. The park is a narrow walkway of cement along the river. Only a small amount of grass separates this strip from the nearby street.

One might be forgiven for thinking that the water in these pictures is a lake or even the ocean. But if the name didn’t give away what this water feature is, then the already mentioned Saint Johns River will. Its quite large in this section of Jacksonville. The river is about two miles across in some of the pictures I took.

Bridges:

I continued my little adventure down Riverfront Park. There was quite a breathtaking display from the Interstate 95 bridge. So captivated by that spot that I took multiple pictures of it. Not even that far apart space wise. I love bridges and Jacksonville has plenty of them that cross the Saint Johns River.

Another notable feature of Riverfront Park were the potted plants. Uniform through the entire place, I didn’t get as many images of them since there were other visitors to the park besides me. As stated many times on this blog, I do everything in my power to avoid having unwilling participants in my pictures.

As my journey through Riverfront Park came to an end, I walked around satisfied with my adventure. I finally got the chance to take a picture of the park path. So that is what one corner looks like. You can see the I95 Bridge in the background for the sake of perspective.

It was a beautiful day and a pleasant river walk. I might come back here some day. I enjoyed my time here.

Pokémon Go:

Here is Riverfront Park in Pokémon Go. This place is considered a park in game even though the image makes it hard to see. Look closely at the spots right near the waters edge and you will see the dark green. For comparison, the last park I visited is also in the image.

All in all, while there is only the one Pokémon Gym here, the spawns were plenty. And given the fact that its a park right next to a large body of water, I found quite a few different Pokémon while here. Its definitely worth a visit I think. But be sure to bring items cause you might run out due to lack of strops.

After this adventure, Eevee evolved into an Espeon. It got plenty of sun in preparation of that moment. I’ll have a new buddy traveling with me for my next blog post.

Hell its your friendly neighborhood Pokémon Go blogger visiting Riverfront Park and looking at the sun again. One day I’ll actually look happy in a photo.

Wrap Up:

I have plenty more to see in Jacksonville and San Marco before I leave the area. Look forward to more blog posts.
