Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park
While getting food, I found a park nearby. So I set out to Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park to see what made this park different from others.
Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park is split into two distinct areas. I did not get many pictures of the first part at all. This is because the front area is a large playground. And since people are getting vaccinated, more people are starting to venture out of their homes.
I think it should be obvious by now that I do what I can to not take pictures of children. Not to mention, I don’t want the parents with those kids to think I’m some dangerous person. Call that an irrational fear, but I would rather not deal with such a problem.
Anyway, once I reached the second area of the park, I encountered less people and felt better about taking pictures. One thing I did get to photograph in the first area was a mile marker explaining the number of laps I needed to walk or run to go a mile.
Something Familiar:
As I continued to explore Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park, it was quite obvious what the second section was used for. Though I have seen quite a few parks that have workout sections, each one tends to be a little different. Even if the machines used are the same as at other locations, the scenery is different.
I also saw a gate that lead to another entrance to the park. Sometimes I wish I could live in a place where I have easy access to a park such as this. Then again, land values are probably high where this is possible. Not to mention, this blog is about traveling to places I have yet to see. Living next to a park would only serve as a one time adventure.
As I mentioned earlier, many times over I have visited places with a circular area filled with workout equipment. Instead, I spent the rest of my time at Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park snapping photos of what made this location unique.
I saw a potential nature trail while completing my loop. I’m not sure if its manmade or made by animals. But I elected not to explore that direction this time. No matter what happened to be that way, it was outside of my park adventure.
This peaceful day couldn’t have had better weather. I’m glad that I found this park nearby while getting lunch.
Pokémon Go:
Lets we forget, here is Elizabeth “Betty” Wolfe Park in Pokémon Go. While not too impressive in game from this image, there were plenty of spawns as I made my way around the park. This place is a nice quiet spot to exercise and relax. Maybe not the best place for Pokémon Go, but relaxation is rarely a bad thing.
Then again, there is a gym and a Pokestop here. I have visited parks that contained neither in the past.
Trogdor the Deino almost has enough candies to evolve. He’ll finally be able to see the world I explore.
Hey look its me again and I am not staring into the sun. I am probably smiling under that mask, but I don’t really remember.
Wrap Up:
I’m not sure where I’ll explore next and that is half the fun. But when I do check out a place, I’ll be sure to write about it as always.
