Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: My Backyard
Ever since I moved to Jacksonville, Florida and started dealing with Covid like the rest of the planet, I was unable to continue my blogging adventure. But today I fought against my personal problems and tried again. I explored my backyard.
Do you like the adorable Deino that is the image for this post? Get ready to see a lot of that Pokemon. I have been walking him for months to try and evolve him. Deino becomes Hydreigon who is my favorite Pokemon in the entire series. I’ll be getting him candy until he can be properly evolved.
I know, that isn’t really a park. But with Covid combined with this being the absolute worst time of the year for me mentally, it was a struggle even to open my front door. Maybe next week when I feel a bit better I’ll go find a place I have not been to before.
As a general rule, I don’t take pictures of people or addresses. And I especially try to avoid having children in my images. Since I went to a lot of parks with playgrounds in the past, that has always been a challenge.
So even though there is more to my apartment complex than the two pictures above, they showcase everything I care about without breaking those rules. Unfortunately the pool was closed so I couldn’t get to the boardwalk that you might be able to see in both pictures.
Those of you who have read my prior travel blog posts might remember that I love lakes. I figured the best way to start this blog anew was to take pictures of water.
Pokemon Go:
In case it was not obvious, this blog features Pokemon Go and exploring the world. The above image is from me standing inside my house. Not exactly my backyard. I am lucky enough to have a Pokestop right nearby. Spawns are plentiful too. This has helped me still play the game even during Covid and the many lockdowns.
There are multiple Pokemon Gyms a short drive away from my backyard. One of them is visible in the above image. Its not easy to walk to it though. The road between my house and that Gym is United States Route 1. A heavily trafficked road not just in Jacksonville but around the entire United States.
All in all, while I don’t recommend going into apartment complexes to play Pokemon Go and will point towards parks and other public places instead, its nice that I can play the game safely while hoping that people will follow guidelines so that we can live in a post Covid World. I’ll be updating this blog again soon.
Oh here is a picture of me with a mask on. Please wear yours when you leave the your house.
