Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Blue Jacket Park
After checking out many small parks around the Baldwin area, I finally hit the jackpot. Blue Jacket Park was nothing short of incredible to explore.
When I first arrived at Blue Jacket Park, I worried that a thunderstorm would force me to leave early. But as you can see by the sky in the above images, that fear blew over pretty fast.
Unlike the last couple places I checked out, Blue Jacket Park is massive. Multiple fields and paths branch off from where I started and each direction called my attention.
I think that the park speaks for itself. What I could attempt to describe in words is done better by seeing this place with your own eyes. Though it appears that the grass in Blue Jacket Park is dead, the reality is something else entirely. Instead, the patches in the ground are caused by heavy use.
While I was here many different groups had gathered in the park. From Basketball games to Soccer training to even Lacrosse, there was plenty to watch and observe while walking around the park.
Blue Jacket Park is named after military heroes who served. It was no surprise that a memorial stands dedicated to these heroes in the area. A series of plaques commemorates each of these distinguished personnel.
But that was not all I found in this part of Blue Jacket Park. A beautiful bridge guided me to this memorial. I am a sucker for architecture designed in this style. I am also a fan of statues. The ones located right across from the plaques stood out to me. However, to respect any others who came to visit, I stood far enough back for others to enjoy this place.
Pokemon Go:
Standing in contrast to the last couple places I explored, Blue Jacket Park was equally amazing where Pokemon Go was concerned. With plenty of Pokemon Gyms, even more Pokestops and countless spawns, this place is one that I recommend if looking for a place to play the game.
The icing on the cake here is that not only is there plenty of room to walk and hatch eggs, but this entire park is a Pokemon Nest too. Make sure to check what is spawning here en mass, it might be something you need.
Thanks to a recent event that reduced the hatch time of eggs, I got plenty of rewards as I walked around the park. Most of them were Pokemon I need too. All in all, my experience at Blue Jacket Park was positive all around.
There are still parks in Baldwin Park to explore. And each has something new to offer.
