Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Overbrook Park
Overbrook Park was not actually where I had intended to explore today. However, due to construction, I was forced to come here instead. In the end, I am glad I did. What I found was quite impressive.
I think I can let the pictures I took at Overbrook Park speak for themselves. The little creek cuts through a canyon and creates some spectacular places to see. The pictures above are only on the edge of the park. The better pictures appear later.
By soon, I meant this part of the park. I reached the middle of Overbrook Park and then things really began to shape up. The way the creek cuts through the area creates a lot of features that one rarely sees in Florida. Perhaps if I lived in a mountainous area, then this place would be a lot less impressive. But I have lived in flat areas my entire life.
I reached the other side of Overbrook Park. Being disappointed in a journey coming to an end is rarely a bad thing. This little park ended up having a lot more to offer than I had thought. And truly, this is a small park compared to some of the mega complexes I have ventured to in the past.
Pokemon Go:
If Pokemon Go alone is the only indicator of where to look for a place to see, this area would have been skipped over. Sadly, while Overbrook Park looks incredible in reality, Pokemon Go tells a different story. I saw a couple spawns by the Pokestop, but that was it. And while this is an improvement over the nearby parks, I still would give this one a hard pass in Go.
See the park around the lake just to the north of the above image? That is where I meant to go today. Tomorrow, that is my destination. Look forward to it.
