Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Dickson Azalea Park
Finishing up my little park exploration on the southeast side of downtown Orlando, I reached Dickson Azalea Park. This is one of my favorite places in Downtown Orlando ascetically. As it turns out, Pokemon Go players will enjoy coming here too. Lets see what I found.
As you can see, this place is very unlike many of the other parks I previously explored. This entire park came about as a result of a natural stream that dug a small canyon. From outside Dickson Azalea Park does not look like much. But walk down the ramps and stairs and you will see something else.
There are multiple branching paths that cross the stream below. The winding trail makes this place feel much larger than it actually is. That is not a bad thing at all though. Dickson Azalea Park is the perfect place to go for a stroll.
One can see a few houses who’s yards almost back up to the park’s property. I cannot imagine it being cheap to live so close to an amazing park like this one. However, I started seeing my allergies flare up as well. Those bright pink flowers are part of the problem I imagine. That was the only drawback of visiting.
As you can see from these two bridges, the creek has a lot of underbrush. There is so much living in such a small area. Its pretty impressive. The bridges give away how close Dickson Azalea Park is to civilization. Indeed, Orlando’s Commercial Urban Core is only a few miles from here. However, the thick plant life gives the illusion of being else where.
This sign showcases the history of how Dickson Azalea Park came to be. Sadly, it occurred to me after the shot that I should have been much closer. That way anyone looking at this photo would actually know what it says. Also, in case you are wondering, the sign is at the entrance of the park. Hence the roads and homes that are visible in this image.
The Hoenn Event is going strong and Generation 3 mons are spawning everywhere in Go. Oh and here is a picture of Dickson Azalea Park in game. Lots of stops on a small path make farming items easy to do while sightseeing. The density of spawns is very high as well. Best of all though is the fact that this park is a nest. But better still, it is a different nest than nearby Langford Park. At the time of writing the nest mon is Wobbuffet who is very rare even under normal circumstances.
I did not write a blog post yesterday. The reason for this was thanks to a wedding. It was worth missing a day since the ceremony was beautiful and it was one of my best friends getting married after all. However, I did a lot of traveling yesterday, and when I did, this Aloan Mewoth hatched.
Not sure where I will end up next. Keep reading this growing blog to find out!
