Timelost Storyteller: January Newsletter

Admin/ January 11, 2019/ Newsletters

Hello Readers, Fans, Dark Fantasy Enthusiasts, and Very Brave Souls! This is the January Edition of my newsletter.

Its a new year and I have been working on many new projects. These include a travel blog, turning Dungeons and Dragons Campaigns into written novels, and most importantly, a Patreon Account.  I’ll share more about that massive undertaking in a moment.

Dark Fantasy is in contrast to High Fantasy, the more stereotypical flavor of this genre. In High Fantasy, Magic is a wonderful thing taught to wizards safely in schools made for this purpose.  Society may suffer conflict, but minus the drive in the story, the world tends to be a fairly stable place. In Dark Fantasy the Magic is dangerous if not worse, society is crumbling assuming its not already at a dystopian state, and there is a general sense of despair and hopelessness that fills the world showcased in the medium.

Because I continue to be asked what Dark Fantasy is exactly and as a result of me deeming the paragraph above to be a strong explanation, I have elected to continue leaving this in the newsletter.

Its a new year and that means plenty of time to write and ultimately make my fictional characters suffer in new cruel and unusual ways.

Happening in January
The first draft of The Messiah of Nightmares, Book 2 in the Search For Eden Series is almost complete.

The first draft of Establishments, Book 1 of Earth Everafter is nearly complete as well.

I am working on turning not one, but two Dungeons and Dragons Campaigns into multiple fully fleshed out Novellas.  One is titled: Cycle of Millenia and the other is titled: Centrum Glacies

Kingdom Hearts 3 comes out at the end of this month.  I have been eagerly streaming the rest of the series as I prepare for a game that has been 13 years coming.  Expect this game to heavily spill over into my creative conscious.

Anthologies:

I am a featured writer in Demonic Household: See Owner’s Manuel.  I worked with an incredibly talented team of writers to contribute a story to this novel.  The mastermind behind this Anthology is Valerie Willis

I am also a featured writer in Thrill of the Hunt: Urban Legends Re-imagined.  As with the other anthology above, the group of writers collaborating here is filled with talent. The mastermind behind this Anthology is LE Perez

Article Updates
Articles I have written are available on Bentobyte

Travel Blog

Though my website has been mentioned many times, I want to call special attention to my brand new Travel Blog. Combining my love of Pokemon Go with wanting to see the world has created an endless supply of inspiration.

Patreon

I kept announcing that it would happen, and I finally pushed the publish button. Here is my Patreon in all its glory.  I have huge ambitions and this is one of the early steps in achieving them.  Any help I receive is extremely valuable at this stage in the game.

Twitch and Youtube

I now have an increasingly active Twitch and Youtube Channel.  Though I do not use these mediums to write, I draw much of my inspiration from the video games I play.  I hope I am entertaining as well.  Take a look and subscribe if my content there strikes your fancy as well.

Fantasy and Sci Fi Reader’s Lounge:

I have been invited to do a presentation at a special event.  Everything you need to know about this kick off party can be found here.  Meet tons of authors and get a chance to win books by participating!

About Me And What I’ve Been Up To

Image may contain: 12 people, including Ross Loremaster Ellison and Philip M. Taveras, people smiling, people standing, wedding, suit and indoor

Last month, I claimed that I lacked any pictures of Morgan and Sean Pinnock’s Amazing Wedding.  As it turns out, I was wrong.  Congratulations again to you both!

I finally got the chance to play Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.  It quickly became my favorite game in the series.  This boss fight however gave me serious trouble.

Remember, I said Birth By Sleep is my favorite Kingdom Hearts Game and heavily inspired my creativity over the last month and a half.  Vanitas is one of my favorite characters in the series, and his many fights are a lot of fun and quite difficult.
