Centrum Glacies Session 116: Rocks
Week 116 of the Dungeons and Dragons Campaign in Centrum Glacies continues as the party increasingly more dangerous rocks.

Anyway, just like my other campaign, there is a whole lot going on and I don’t want to elaborate on every moving piece in the story. You can see the whole thing in the book series.

This story deals with a cruel world with some horrific twists. So far, this campaign has featured: Animals getting killed, Genocide, lots of body horror, evil cults, brainwashing, torture, psychological warfare, child abuse, and slavery.
Most recently, the party helped cause a complete planetary genocide. Save a few survivors, no one remains from that world. They are still grappling with this unfathomable loss of life and their role in making it happen. It is clear that their suffering is far from over. They can only hope they don’t cause untold pain to an even more untold more.

The party, still split continued fighting against the machines guarding key points of the mechanical maze. They still hadn’t encountered the Orcs that no doubt were watching every step of their progress. And this troubled several of the group including the two Witches who had brought them to this place.
The first group, containing Jyona, her Golem, Kisara, Obrom and Persephine took on and defeated one last group of mechanical monsters and followed the final part of a hidden trail via heat goggles back to the wall of radiation. Now that they had finished their task they approached the dangerous wall and saw that it had shrunk significantly. No doubt as a result of activating the machines.
Meanwhile, the second group which consisted of Trent, Teztcal, and Engelique still had a few more generators to activate. They had made slower progress than the first group. But soon enough they activated the final couple switches on their side of the mechanical maze. And now that Engleique and Trent had set aside their issues for a bit they cleared the rest of the mechanical monsters with minimal difficulty.
More Dangerous Rocks
Before the two groups could meet up in the center, made easy since the radioactive material had been removed from the area, Persephine warned them to stand back. Of course there was more to worry about. On each side barring the way forward, four more of those aggressive rock beasts appeared. It was clear that they had some connection to the radioactive material.
Obrom, Engelique, and Persephine all used spells to lock down most of the beasts. With the groups’ significant power amplified by the two Witches, even this clash which should have been deadly became trivial. With only one creature to have to battle at a time, the threats were easily neutralized one by one.
They eventually beat all of them except one. Unfortunately, that last one they struck down created another hole in the ground and the party fell in. This time they were separated from Engelique and Persephine.
The Pit
This new room was almost entirely made up of radiation. Specifically the stuff completely lined all the walls limiting the amount of safe space. But if this situation wasn’t bad enough, rocks on the ground started forming into a shape. They were not alone down in this pit as a monster made of rocks, different from the ones above attacked.
Jyona’s animated armor struck first. But it’s attacked bounced off the rocks. There didn’t appear to be any visible weak point either. Teztcal didn’t have much luck harming the creature either. After the Dragon tried his breath attack on it, the monster didn’t even flinch. Yet the group did make one discovery as his attack caused a small section of the rocks to flicker.
Jyona understood quickly what that flickering meant. They needed to use the goggles currently being worn by Kisara to find the actual weak spot of the monster.
Wrap Up
The group is trapped in a hole with a monster made of rocks. The walls are filled with dangerous material. And there does not seem to be any way out of said hole.
