Exploring the World with Pokémon Go: Cross Seminole Trail 6

Admin/ October 31, 2021/ Central Florida, Florida, Trails, Travel

I decided to complete something that I vowed to start a long time ago. It was time to explore Cross Seminole Trail 6. Some of my adventure through this trail has been completely lost. I don’t know what happened to those photos . Its a shame because some of the best parts of the trail are missing. Almost 12 miles of the trail. Maybe I’ll try and find it at some point.

Mile Marker 22.75:

The Cross Seminole Trail is long. And quite a bit of it is missing from my blog. This might be labeled as Cross Seminole Trail 6, but I have traversed far more. Crossed bridges, visited tons of parks and gone through multiple towns.

This section of the trail follows a road. This might look similar to my last adventure. Funny enough that other trail is not far from here. Just on the other side of Interstate 4.

Mile Marker 22.75 already means that I am beyond where my last adventure ended on this path. Even more insane when you consider that this trail connects to another one that I already explored.

Mile Marker 23.0:

The next section of Cross Seminole Trail 6 took me past a place I knew quite well. A couple years ago I was homeless for a bit. In fact, the last time I explored this part of the trail was when I was homeless. Looking at where I am now compared to then is huge. I’m proud of how I have changed over the last few years.

There was an entire area of workout machines. Not strewn along the trail like plenty of other areas I have spotted them. No, this time around the entire set was in one place. I think I have only seen this happen one other time. I feel like spreading everything out is better. It makes you walk around to use the machines.

Between park benches and lovely scenery just to the side, this was a scenic walk. Even cars constantly passing by couldn’t take that away. I mean look at the sky. I feel at peace here.

Mile Marker 23.0 seems like a long way walking, but there is plenty more trail to check out. I am here for every moment of it.

Mile Marker 23.25:

The next section of Cross Seminole Trail 6 took me past a huge cemetery. No fence kept me out. But I wasn’t gonna go in there. I do wonder what Pokémon Go was like here when the game first came out. Cemeteries used to be prime spots to play. For obvious reasons, they are not as popular spots now.

Other notable features of this section included some crossings at major intersections, power lines with huge supports keeping them up, and some more benches to sit at. One of them is even near the nearby cemetery. Well that is an interesting view if nothing else. Especially around Halloween. Wait isn’t that what’s going on soon?

Somehow when I took the picture of Mile Marker 23.25 I accidently got part of my finger in it. That is a serious screw up. Rather than using photoshop or trying to hide my mistake, I’m admitting to it. Unprofessional it might be. But I try to be an honest man.

Mile Marker 23.5:

The next part of Cross Seminole Trail 6 took me past multiple Dealership Headquarters. Or at least local headquarters. Given what I saw on the other trail when I went near a couple actual cooperate headquarters, these buildings just felt a bit too close to the world. I always have imagined actual headquarters as massive properties with fences to keep peasants like me out.

You can see Interstate 4 and Toll Road 417. I traveled along that tollway quite a bit during earlier segments of this adventure. But it feels like years since I have been near that road on foot.

Mile Marker 23.5 was the first time in a long time I was near that tollway, but since that road ends nearby, it will be the last time I go near it while exploring this trail.

Mile Marker 23.75:

As I continued down Cross Seminole Trail 6, I noticed that this area was more of the same. That is fine though. In this case, I was just happy for the perfect weather and almost cloudless sky.

I crossed a couple more streets. Luckily, none of them were too crowded. And the lights were in my favor. I mentioned this earlier, but the important street was to my left. To its left was an even more important street.

Mile Marker 23.75 went by and I almost missed it. I was in the zone and really enjoying my walk. With perfect weather and a day off work, I couldn’t ask for anything else.

Mile Marker 24.0:

For the next section of Cross Seminole Trail, I passed by some construction. The dirt managed to erase some parts of the trail. I found this unusual. Even in the deep forested part of this trial I never saw complete erasure happen. I wonder if its going to get fixed?

I passed a few shopping centers at this point too. All of them had “Help Wanted” signs. I wonder when supply and demand will make workers worth more? Well whatever. Asking those sorts of questions makes me a dirty commie apparently. Not very American of me to question it.

I continued questioning Capitalism while passing Mile Marker 24.0. Maybe I should lay off the political commentary videos? Nah.

Mile Marker 24.25:

As I passed Mile Marker 24.25 and approached the end of my journey down Cross Seminole Trail 6, I saw a sign for something interesting. A park. Well I know where I am going next.

I wondered how I didn’t notice this park in the past. I lived here for a time and drove up and down this street frequently. Even now, I don’t live far from here. Yet this park existing was a surprise. A welcome one.

There was more trail erosion on this section as well. I wonder why parts of the path were erased? It doesn’t look like any roads were widened recently. I might never figure out the answer.

I ended my adventure on Cross Seminole Trail 6 at the Toll Road 417 Bridge. A lot of my time living in Florida has been around this road. Even now, construction is turning this highway into a proper beltway. I know interstates are bad for the environment and tons of groups oppose this road being built, but trains don’t seem to be in the cards. Any congestion off Interstate 4 is welcome for me.

There are a lot of signs pointing the way to the interstate around here. Which is silly in a way. You can actually see the road in question. And multiple exits and entrances are scattered nearby. No matter what direction you choose you can get to the road.

Given how much water lies underground in Florida, its not surprising that there are water reservoirs right near a ramp. They have to dig a lot of dirt out. I’m glad to see that they use the land efficiently even after its cleared.

Pokémon Go:

I hatched two eggs while walking along Cross Seminole Trail 6. I forgot to get a picture of the game in Pokémon Go, but this wasn’t really the bets spot to play. Yes there were spawns and even a couple stops along the way to spin. But high density parks are always better. And there a re a few along this trail. I’ll outline some when I find them.

Oh before I forget, neither of those hatches above were useful. But then again, they came out of 2K Eggs. Rarely does anything good come out of those.

Wrap Up:

Not sure what this face I’m making is. Probably me looking at the sun and trying to smile. When near so many cars, I do what I can to not have their license plates appear. But in this case, that meant I had to take an awkward photo. Maybe when I travel to a park for my next adventure, I won’t need to do that.
