Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Harbor Park
My next stop was Harbor Park in Baldwin Park. Given that this is one of the most iconic areas of the region, I made sure to brave the coming rain and get plenty of photos.
As I walked around Harbor Park, I made sure to focus on the iconic sights. I also made sure to take some pictures of the brewing storm visible on the other side of Lake Baldwin.
When the weather is better, this area is heavily packed with people. Thanks to a combination of nearby restaurants and apartments, this is a fantastic area to explore as far as walkability is concerned. However, when I was here, the place was eerie and quiet.
As the storm drew nearer, I made sure to take some truly breathtaking photos. I love storms, though prefer not to be outside with lack of cover when they strike. This front clearly was going to produce lightning and being out near open water was not the place to be.
I even dared to go out onto one of the piers to get a close picture on the water itself. I made sure to give myself space from the fisherman who also came to the pier. Did not want to scare the fish away after all.
The Trail:
For those who are reading this and are jumping around frantically as they realized I ignored a part of this park, put those fears to rest. Harbor Park is part of the greater Lake Baldwin Park and features a trail. I spent plenty of time walking and photographing this area. The storm scared me a bit but I made sure to get back to shelter as fast as I could.
Seeing the contrast of cloud cover in the images above showcases just how fast this storm was approaching. Looking away from the lake and one assumes it is a simple overcast day. But as the rest of my pictures showcase, that is false.
Pokemon Go:
Harbor Park has great spawn frequency in Pokemon Go. But there are also plenty of Pokestops and Gyms to make use of. The region around the lake in Baldwin Park is a fantastic spot for Pokemon Go. And there are still a few more parks for me to cover.
As I did plenty of walking around Harbor Park, many eggs hatched. I shrugged when the Eevee appeared, but the Skorupi and Glameow were a different matter entirely. Both are extremely rare where I live and especially in the scorpion’s case, its evolution is on my not obtained list.
There are more parks around Lake Baldwin. I will continue exploring all of them before returning to the Cady Way Trail. Get excited for more content soon!
