Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Return to Lake Underhill Path
After a couple detours, I finally returned to finish an earlier project. Today let us see what I found on my return to Lake Underhill Path.
I began the return to Lake Underhill Path by starting at the other end of Lake Underhill Park. The first part of this journey was to go underneath Toll Road 408 again. This marks the second time I have crossed this barrier in one of my posts.
Next I reached the end of Lake Underhill Road. Despite the namesake of the path coming to an end, the trails name remained the same. Following South Street westward towards Downtown Orlando, I passed by another park from a past visit. Kittinger Park, better known as that place with the airplane statue near Toll Road 408 is that place.
The next leg of the path on my return to Lake Underhill Path took a right at the next light and traveled northwards on Crystal Lake Drive. Sadly there is not too much to see in the pictures above. On the right, the Executive Airport sits not so quiet. Many planes landed and took off as I continued down the path.
Along the barbed wire fence that prevents the every day Joe from wandering into the airport sits a hedge line. Flowers were in bloom and if not for my allergies, I would have taken a closer look at them.
At this point of the walk, the road curves. My return to Lake Underhill Path has involved the most roads so far out of all these journeys. Crystal Lake Drive becomes McGuire Boulevard is I crept closer to my destination. The airport still sits on the right side here.
The most notable thing I saw on this leg of the journey was the fire station. While I did not agree with the ironically named street that had something to do with car crashes, I have begun noticing that there are many Fire Stations in Orlando. It feels assuring to know that if disaster hits, I am not too far from help.
At last, I reached the other end of the trail. My return to Lake Underhill Path also brought me back to Festival Park. At the time of me writing this, I think there is an actually festival being set up here. At least the rides I would expect at a carnival were being set in place. Though that sort of environment is not my thing anymore, I am curious to know what is happening there.
I passed a plaque commemorating the air force. This makes sense given the air base right across the street. Connected to the Executive Airport, both locations were the hidden friend right on the other side of all the buildings visible in the pictures.
Finally, I reached the approximate end of the trail. My return to Lake Underhill Path was complete. Well not really, I still had to walk all the way back, but at least as far as pictures were concerned, I was finished.
The places between parks was essentially devoid of anything notable in Pokemon Go. Sadly, the trail itself was not a worthy place to play the game all by itself. My verdict is to play at the many parks along this trail. Lake Underhill Park and Festival Park are both very worthy of playing. I have caught rare mons in both locations. Festival Park is also in the picture above.
I walked quite a bit during this adventure. It is no surprise that I hatched a few eggs along the way. Neither one of these is worth talking about though. Better luck next time.
I do not know where my travels will take me next. But I have a lot of options. Hopefully, those reading look forward to my next adventure.
