Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Lake Druid Park
Lake Druid Park is located just northeast of Downtown Orlando. Had I not know if the park’s location ahead of time, I never would have found it. For some odd reason, Pokemon Go does not have it marked in game.
The first thing I spotted when I entered Lake Druid Park was this large garden. Though the entrance to this area is actually located on the opposite side of the fence, it was still breathtaking to see what was within, even for a distance.
This volleyball court is one of the major sporting areas of Lake Druid Park. While not as hand tailored to sports as some of the other venues I have visited, this still is an honest attempt at appealing to multiple groups of people.
Despite the name of the park, the lake is not a major feature. Lake Druid Park instead opts for being nearby. Probably a first time for this blog where a park with the name lake in it does not have countless pictures of said area.
Major Facilities:
Lake Druid Park has open fields that are perfect for playing with pets. In fact, quite a few dogs and their pet parents were making use of the area while I visited. Taking up almost two thirds of the entire park, this area is a dog lovers dream. The pets seemed to be having just as much fun too.
On the opposite side of Lake Druid Park sits an area tailored for dirt bikes. I had to pick my pictures carefully as this was without a doubt the most crowded area of the park. With the many ramps and plenty of rough terrain, this spot looks quite fun for mountain bikes especially. I do not own a mountain bike, but perhaps someone who does can take a look and try this place for themselves.
Pokemon Go:
As you can see, Lake Druid Park is not even marked as a park in Pokemon Go. There are multiple Pokestops as well as a gym, pictured above. No, I sadly did not fight the Latias as no one else playing the game was nearby. While certain a notable area given decent spawns and multiple stops, there are better places to play.
While I technically hatched these both yesterday, I still want to note the newest hatches. The Dratini made me groan since I keep hatching them. The Lickitung however was very much needed. I still need 24 more candy before I can evolve this mon.
Now that I am back on track with blog posts everyday, I wonder where I will travel next? Stay tuned and find out next time.
