Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Wadeview Park

Admin/ December 11, 2018/ Travel

Located only a few blocks from Pulse Nightclub in Orlando Florida, this locale park offers a quiet atmosphere despite being surrounded on all sides by streets. With how peaceful it is here, one would doubt that a such a severe tragedy occurred so close by. Pokemon Go lead me to this place just like the last one.  And I was eager to explore.

One of the first areas that caught my eye was the nearby lake. Unlike my last adventure, there was very little water meant for habitation nearby.  I got a chance to relax by the shore for a few moments since there was a much less likely chance of dealing with alligators.

This area of the park really stood out to me.  Here one can observe water naturally flowing at a slow crawl towards the lake pictured earlier.  apparently in Pokemon Go, this spot is marked as a water area as within the game it was populated with many water types.  Notably I caught a Surskit which was the rarest thing to appear in the area.

This is a picture of the fountain water as it continues to work its way towards the lake.  This is similar in principal to how an aqueduct carries water from a high area to a lower one. The picture does not make it look very impressive but I stood by for a few moments just watching the water wash itself down the hill.

The Woods:

Here I decided to go towards the middle of the park.  Many trees make up the center.  The larger shadow was a small pavilion from where I was standing.  The smaller shadow is me holding my camera phone while taking this amateur shot.  Remember I am no camera man after all.

As I followed the trail around the park, I was taken aback by the maze of trees.  I took several pictures of this same area from many different angels.  Alongside the slow flowing fountain, it was my favorite spot in Wadeview Park.

Surprise! Its another shot of the same wooded area from yet another angle.  Despite being a relatively small place the trees make this field look like a large labyrinth.  I am disappointed that this park is closed at night as this probably makes for quite a spooky looking place should I ever want to draw inspiration for my fiction.

As I continued to explore Wadeview Park, I discovered much to my pleasure that there is a workout course here.  I already am making use of the facilities at a nearby park which I will write about in a future blog post, but having another option is vital. Doing the same routine over time will not allow for growth.  Now that I know of this second park, I have that much more room to grow.

Pokemon Go:

Here is Wadeview Park in Pokemon Go.  Simply looking at this map does not tell what scenic views there are in that mass of dark green.  Though the Pokestops (The blue and purple symbols on the map) help mark areas of interest, one could find a statue, or simply a strange colored rock.

This park was a bit more worth playing the game in than the last given that there were more stops to collect items at.  However, there was no nest of anything rare as far as I could tell.  There are better places to play than here. Still for those looking for some unique scenery, this park will suit your needs nicely.

Given that I try to move as much as I can while at the parks, I always hatch at least one egg via distance.  I got a Dratini, though there are many other things from a 10k Egg that I would much rather see. (Like Riolu)

I’ll be at a new park tomorrow.  Look forward to it.
