Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Senator Beth Johnson Park

Admin/ April 4, 2019/ Travel

Today I set off to see what other parks sat around Lake Ivanhoe. Next up, I discovered Senator Beth Johnson Park.

Before I made it into Senator Beth Johnson Park, I walked a small path that lead to it. The view was quite incredible. Lake Ivanhoe is a beautiful area filled with many places that are walk able. Even Interstate 4 crossing the lake right in the middle does not take away from that fact.

As it turns out, the workout machines that I found in my last adventure actually started farther down the path than I thought. But worry not, I did showcase all of Gaston Edwards Park last time. No one was cheated out of any images.

Right before the entrance to Senator Beth Johnson Park, sits this Statue of Liberty Mural and a garden surrounding it. I felt that this warranted a description all to itself. Sitting right by a major intersection, I have never noticed this before despite driving through here frequently. The Lake Ivanhoe Interstate 4 Ramp sits right nearby. Those who live in Orlando have probably passed this intersection with a thought of what they are missing.

The Park:

I reached Senator Beth Johnson Park after a beautiful walk. Sitting right next to the Orlando Chamber of Commerce Building, one rarely assumes they will find a park next door. But this is one of those times. Despite being right by Interstate 4 which is currently under construction, it is not too loud here.

While not as exciting as some of the other places I have explored, this region is perfect for a quiet get away without actually leaving civilization. Perhaps I am unique in that I prefer such a place, but for me a park in the middle of somewhere is ideal.

Here sits an Interstate 4 bridge. It serves as a barrier as it will be difficult to pass this point by foot. But since the park I explored today ended here, that was perfectly fine. However, for my next day of exploration, I will have to find a new spot to park. I also wonder how the construction will ultimately impact the area.

Pokemon Go:

Here sits Senator Beth Johnson Park in Pokemon Go. How does it measure up to other places I have explored. About average in all honesty. There are plenty of spawns, especially on the path leading here. However, since I have gone to some parks that have outright explosive spawns, a smaller park like this one has that to compete with.

Still, I found some rare Pokemon here such as Fineeon. And the area is absolutely stunning. I would still say its worth a visit. Even though Lake Eola and Loch Haven Park are much better from a Pokemon Go perspective.

Next time, I will possibly go west of Interstate 4 for the first time in this travel blog. Who knows what I will find once I pass this barrier that divides Orlando in two?
