Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Orlando Urban Trail

Admin/ March 15, 2019/ Travel

While technically, I already started exploring the Orlando Urban Trail, this time around it was my primary focus. Whoever named the trail was not exaggerating the urban aspect. This was certainly a unique journey.

Keeping true to its name, the Orlando Urban Trail goes through populated areas. The next part of the trail goes right along streets. I even crossed a few as I continued along the zigzagging path. Along the way I encountered a couple signs that explained the history of the trail. Apparently there had been more railroad activity here in the past.

I mentioned in the Lake Highland Park Post about my long time love of railroads and the trains that run on them. A trail that paid homage to such things is very much to my liking. Though, as one can see, the trail is much more like a road than railroad. This is to accommodate the many bikers who use this path.

The next section of the Orlando Urban trail passes through a narrow section where nothing save buildings is visible. There are two things of interest in this part of the excursion. The first was the mural on the walls pictured above. The second aspect of this section was the fact that there were gaps in the fence to go into the nearby buildings. Notably, there was a wine testing sign that pointed me in the direction of goodness.

Sadly, I currently lack the funds or time to do something like that. I will remember the location of such a place though. Being connected to such an exotic trail creates so many unique opportunities in the future.

Shopping Center:

I have been to shopping centers in this blog. And I have explored trails in multiple posts. However, Orlando Urban Trail allows one to do both of these at the same time. The trail zips through a shopping center and even passes an an apartment complex. Said complex has access to the trail too. It was nice to see developers make something such as a trail so accessible.

I found another one of the signs explaining the history of this trail. It seems that I was passing through a major area of Orlando. Though, from how the rest of the region has changed, I never would have guessed.

I finally reached my next stopping point. This area of the trail crosses over Lake Formosa. Meanwhile the trail itself continues to Loch Haven Park. I do not want to talk too much about either of these locations. They both deserve Blog Posts of their own. And they shall get them.

All in all, I really am enjoying exploring the Orlando Urban Trail. I can’t wait to see what I will find on this trail. The perfect blending of nature and urbanization. This is my favorite kind of place.

Pokemon Go:

Orlando Urban Trail is very spread out. I could not get a picture that showcased the whole thing. So I settled on the shopping center. Many fantastic parks are nearby and the Pokemon in them are of a wide variety. As one can see, both a Glameow and Shieldon are nearby. But they were not in reach. My next couple adventures will take me to where they were located. Sadly, I did not get a chance to battle the Dialga

While the first part of Orlando Urban Trail lacked in Pokemon Go, there was no such issue here. With multiple stops and gyms, I greatly recommend checking out where I explored in this post. There were plenty of spawns too. Next time I will get to some of the best parks in Orlando to play. Look forward to it.
