Exploring the World With Pokemon Go: Millennium Park

Admin/ December 25, 2018/ Travel

Today is Christmas Day and that means most of the parks are closed. However, I managed to find one that lacked a gate to close it. Right off of East Colonial Drive (State Road 50) and Semoran Boulevard (State Road 436) in Orlando, sits a little park by a lake. Its called Millennium Park and has no relation to the much larger one in Chicago.

This table and bench are one of the few features of this little hide away of a park. I decided to sit here for a bit and just enjoy my surroundings. The world is fairly quiet on Christmas. Even nearby Colonial Drive was lacking in noise.

Like most parks in Orlando, Millennium Park features a lake. However, this park only is on one side. I did not get close to the water to read the sign in case it was warning of alligators. However, in Florida it is safe to assume any body of water had gators in it.

This was my favorite spot in Millennium Park. There is a dock that extends out onto the lake. From the edge, I took a shot that got the sky and lake in one image. While not the most spectacular view, every new experience is worth it to me.

Pokemon Go:

Here is Millennium Park in Pokemon Go. As one can see, this is a very small area. There is a Pokemon Gym here and give its location is a bit out of the way, it might be a safe bet to get some Pokecoins. The raid ended up being a Shinx by the way.

I did not encounter a single Pokemon in this park. As a result, while the Gym is in a nice spot, I would advise against coming here solely to play Pokemon Go.

I hatched one of these eggs while searching for a park. The other hatched when I was just arriving. All and all, I was disappointed with these hatches, most of all the Porygon which came out of a 10k Egg.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday in general. I’ll be back with a new place explored tomorrow.
